Title: So I built something...

 ;D

It probably isn't what you're expecting, but hopefully it is of interest to some folks here.

Interesting aggregator, bookmarked for future browsing pleasure! (and I'm on TGN Blog Network, so will likely be appearing on your aggregator too...)

Depending on your interest, there's a couple of other Flickr groups you could feature:
Historical Wargame Figures: http://www.flickr.com/groups/665301@N21/
(the most active of the three here)
Miniature Wargamers: http://www.flickr.com/groups/miniature_wargamers/
(nowhere near active enough...)
Miniature Mayhem: http://www.flickr.com/groups/964266@N20/
(some overlap with the GW group you already feature, but lots of interesting stuff)

Thanks for the suggestions, have fun at Trumpeters. I'm missing it because I'm still unemployed. Got a job interview next week in Richmond though...

I'll look at those groups, I can't keep adding content without taking some away, thumbnails especially when I have to make them slow the site down, but Flickr is great, they use some sort of MediaRSS type feed with thumbnails already made. I'm not sure how frequently they update. I'd of course prefer everyone got along and joined the same Flickr group which is why I chose Wargame Miniature Painters, but the GW Group has more painters/pictures.

I think I follow your blog which means it should appear, but SimplePie is having issues with blogspot specifically fetching and merging lots of content from blogspot. (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9627497/simplepie-and-fetching-multiple-feeds-from-blogspot-com)

I hopeful someone other than me knows what is wrong and can fix that, then it will just do its thing. I think SimplePie is pretty good about caching feeds, so the longer it is left running the better it should perform given the same data. Adding more data is good, but I plan to be selective (http://musksminiatures.wordpress.com/2012/03/10/built-a-miniature-painting-news-aggregator/).

There is still a bug in the underlying tool. I'm adding a little social media, but it seems like Facebook has made their 'like button' much more fancy. Does anyone in the miniature painting community use Pinterest? I'm also surprised Tumblr isn't more popular given how visual miniature painting is.  Tumblr has RSS feeds, Pinterest I'm not so sure about...

I need to find someone to make it go better. Do you know anyone smart who can make it go?  lol
