Urban Mammoth (http://www.urbanwarthegame.com/) have released the first set of concept art for weapons from the upcoming Neo-Iskandrian faction for the Urban War Second Edition (http://www.urbanwarthegame.com/) sci-fi skirmish rules.
Work progresses on creating new miniatures, background, art and fiction for the newest addition to the Urban War universe, the Neo-Iskandrians. This new army will be making their impact felt in the conflict for Iskandria and further afield hopefully by the end of the year. While work progresses we will be releasing art, 3D designs and more starting with concept art for some of the new Neo-Iskandrian weapons and powered armour.

And some more tasty art to check out
Urban Mammoth (http://www.urbanwarthegame.com/) have released the second set of concept art for the upcoming Neo-Iskandrian faction for the Urban War Second Edition (http://www.urbanwarthegame.com/) sci-fi skirmish rules. This latest preview features the powered armour suits that the Neo-Iskandrians will be equipping their troops with.
Wayne England has created a design that is inspired not only by the standard science fiction designs but also has echoes of Macedonain elements to create a unique new style of powered armour for the Neo-Iskandrians. The circular attachment point on the back of the suit is where the Kairos Backpack attaches. All of the Neo-Iskandrian weapons and armour are powered by Kairos energy that the Neo-Iskandrians have discovered.

-
Definitely going to be worth a look when they're available.

that is a great helmet design

Anyway, it's nice to see new stuff coming out for UW finally. I was always a bit disappointed when the Viridians lost their tactical powered armour, this faction looks to be getting the new version of that then.

For suits like this, the whole 'digital paint/print in 3d' really is the way to go. This one is looking pretty good so far but I wish they wouldn't say things like..."we've started sculpting...here's a WIP" only for a digital image to be shown off.
When I saw the helmet, I thought gladiators rather than Cylons...but I certainly get where you're coming from :) .

Aren't his arms a tad short?

Only if they were hanging straight. They are posed away from the body.

And some new concept art showing off some more weapon designs from Wayne England.

Yep, contrary to rather popular (judging by sculpts) belief, humans dont' have (a) long arms (b) short legs (c) large heads and (d) thick torsos. As a rule :)
-
And more concept art from the talented drawing table of Wayne England. This time it is the Neo-Iskandrian Team Weapon. It is internally referred to as the HMG but like all of the Neo-Iskandrian weapons is it powered by a new energy source and is a beam/energy based weapon.

Neo-Iskandrian Close Combat Trooper model
The first 3D sculpt of a Neo-Iskandrian miniature has been finished. The Close Combat Trooper is armed with a power sword that also contains a lightweight version of the Carbine giving it an additional ranged firepower option at the expense of accuracy.
This trooper model, for the Urban War Second Edition sci-fi skirmish rules (http://www.urbanwarthegame.com/), is entirely created in 3D and will be sent to a 3D printer to create a resin master for mould making. This process will not only speed up the sculpting and creation of the miniatures but will also make it much easier to sculpt variant poses, new models and even accessories for existing figures.
Check out this site in the coming week for photos of more 3D models from the Neo-Iskandrian faction and also don't forget to check out out Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Urban-War/354426834569501) and https://plus.google.com/b/109661757031483459365/109661757031483459365/posts pages as well.

So the gun shoots out of the hilt? I can see why that'd be innacurate when there is no real way to aim properly with it.
I like it, but are the plates of the 'skirt' attached to the belt in any way? Or is it one of those things where once it's printed and reduced in scale you won't be able to see the gaps anyway?
-
Looks cool to me.
When can we expect new VASA models?

I suspect that once it is printed and cast there won't be any gaps.

Nothing on the table for the VASA at the moment other than the Starfire that was recently released
-
The star fire was really cool, but I'd love to see a new squad of their general infantry.

Granted the weapon itself doesn't seem to have anything that would work as a targeting device, but technically if it had one it could route the targeting information to the wielder's visor - this being a scifi powered armour suit guy after all. To think of it, it might be possible to extrapolate the targeting point from the position of the weapon if you had a bit more more CPU power available.
You see, "fanboy logic" can solve all problems :P

Heh, true, but I was more thinking that when you reverse the sword to fire out of the hilt, you then have a big power blade against your body. It's not going to cut you but you also can't brace it for an aimed shot, even if you do have targetting recticles in your hud.
-
The powered armour is there to do the bracing, I imagine o_o
