All,
I really like the look of the HALO troopers. Whose 15mm troops look the closest to them? From what I've seen, it would almost need to be a combination of Critical Mass Arc Fleet bodies, with Rebel Minis heads. Please don't suggest GZG, I've never really like the look of them.

They aren't released yet, but are supposed to be 1:100 (sorry, I don't recall where I saw that scale posted at). Otherwise, if you're that opposed to GZG, you may be on the best path already. Based on my other Rebel Minis and CMG, the heads from the Rebel Minis troopers might look a tad large on the Arc Fleet bodies.
Were you aware that the GZG NI minis had been revised in the last few years?

I've posted up in my Halo thread my 15mm spartans and ODST's, plus pics of the new Halo Mirco ops toys for release this August.
Mad robot has nice jackal proxies, Khurashan carry a lovely range of aliens, perfect for proxy convenant forces and the Micro Ops release will certainly help with specific vehicle choices.

The thread was helpful and inspirational. Thanks much. I tend to prefer the Arc Fleet "Rifle" troops, they seem to have more movement about them.

Rifles are too light for spartans (imho). I'd stay with Arc Troopers:

I'm going to be painting my Khurashan mid tech humans at some stage, which have a nice spartan feel to them:

Also with regards to Critical Mass Games, their augmented ARC drop Troopers will make perfect 'prototype' suits (as seen in the Halo Legends DVD). The drop trooper mercs would make for some nice spartan armour loadout options too.
GZG NI troops have that powered armoured MK V look, and the USNC 15mm troopers have a definate EVA helemt armour loadout look which could work as well.

Both are later sculpts and you shouldn't just dismiss GZ, they've been going for a long time and the future's looking very bright for them with the new products coming out this year.

This is basically a solo project, so I have to restrain myself from buying too much, already done that once. I may have one other guy I can talk into SF gaming.

I have to agree I really wouldn't dismiss GZG, I have a few on my painting table atm and they are really nice figs that paint up nicely. Plus there is such a huge range to choose from.
For Spartans I have to second khurasan they are very nice.
