Ha, what an uncanny coincidence! =D Best of luck Arjen (or best of luck me, rather)! Nice proximity to the old Heinrich K model!

Thanks phreedh! I love your entry, great job! Where's the big guy from?

Where's the big guy from?
The big guy is a D&D Miniatures plastic pre-paint re-paint. :) A "zombie hulk".

These are my final zombies for quite some time, that's why this entry is such an eclectic mix. I scraped the bottom of the zombie barrel and found some odds and ends. =) I now have enough dead meat for the next Stillburg scenario.
Top job on that shield! Did you find more orange ink, btw? I've got some really really old orange ink if you need it... Round, tall bottle with black flip-top cap and silvery foil label.

You did well on the bottom of the barrell, the Heroquest zombies fit in nicely as well.
I settled on Liquitex Vivid Red Orange ink in the end. It's a bit more magenta than Citadel but otherwise pretty similar. You can see the result in my entry. The ink I used in there is mixed with a little Speedry Magic Color Omega Orange ink to make it less pink. The match is close enough so I've stopped searching for now.
Kemmler is a conversion of the old Metal Magic wizard now available from Megaminis:

I gave him the head and staff from Morbius the Liche and green stuff hair and a hat. It scratched an itch for a Kemmler model that I couldn't get (at a normal price) and that the current Kemmler model just wouldn't fix 8)

Ah man - this is a toughie - great stuff on both counts.
Love that shield Pil and nice stand-in for the Lichemaster!
Those Heroquest zombies came up really nice Phreedh - I think they're really great minis too. The big guy is cool as well. 8)

Cheers! Yeah, I quite like them. All the monsters in HQ are great, and I'm going to try to squeeze a few in every now and then.
Thanks to Cheetor, btw - who kindly provided the unarmed zombie with his brains exposed!
Pil, how did you do the armour on the guy to the far left (scythe and shield)? I'm looking to achieve a similar effect on a future entry and I'm not too keen on my achievements so far. =/
-
Thanks Thantsants, the shield says "Brevis ipsa vita est sed malis fit longior": Our life is short but is made longer by misfortunes. (Publilius Syrus)
Phreedh, all the armour is painted as follows:
- black undercoat
- drybrush VGC Charred Brown
- drybrush VGC Earth
- drybrush VGC Bone White
- orange ink, in this case a mix of about 4 parts Liquitex Vivid Red Orange ink and one part Speedry Magic Color Omega Orange ink
- wash Badab Black
- (dry)brush Citadel Boltgun Metal
The model on the left was a test model for my replacement inks so it got a more varied covering than usual but it doesn't really show in the end result.

This. ;)
Beautiful treatment on some very humble plastics- Top notch!

Two great entries, very difficult to choose......... o_o
Lovely paintjobs on both.
Phreedh; You have certainly brought the best out of those plastics. Lovely work!
Pil, Great conversion for HK, and that shield is top!
Hmmmmm....................
-
Great stuff, what fig is the LM?
-
Wow...what a match up...top notch skill level and miniature choices by two of my favorite contestants! :-* :o o_o. What's a boy to do?!
This one I will have to ponder for awhile.... ;)
Cheers,
Blue

Still pondering this one myself. o_o

More undead goodness. Great job with both entries.

No problem, you are very welcome. It constitutes my only "entry" in the LPL to date ;)
Good luck to both of you, they are both nice entries. I have a definite soft spot for those HQ zombies, nice work.

:D I recognized all the parts :D
Great and very suitable conversion. Soon you'll have all the parts for a few nice scenarios. Now start working on that monastery ;)
Preed, love your entry as well. I'm often surprised by the D&D minis and would not mind diving in a bargain bin of them as either. Those C18 zombies (and the herquest one) are really ace as well!
-
both very fun entries.
great work on that zombie hulk!

I had a massive collection of them (though I didn't play the actual game). I've constructed my own Warhammer Quest, populating the full encounter tables from the RP books with D&D Minis instead of GW figs. Took some doing, and the upper levels with the huge demons aren't fully done yet. Single skeletons and zombies are surprisingly expensive! =( I need to document this on my blog sometime. Now I've unloaded most of the stuff, only keeping the WHQ proxies and a few cool and usefull creatures.
