Decals used for UN lettering.
-
Hmm cute and colourful or grim and gritty - both beautifully painted. 8)
Tough one...
-
for now I cannot decide, really °_O
Very war-ish vs very cool-ish
to me, the "ambiente" of war looks better, but then ... down under there's even a badger, right? - oh my ...
*sigh*
-
Who makes the small cute animals?
-
Hard to choose but... 15mm figures!?! :o :-* :o
Very lovely work in both entries though 8)
-
Hi,
Thanks...the animals are from Splintered Light Miniatures -- and there's scads more where they came from. They are from their "Druid's Children" line. It is inspired by the Redwall series of young adult novels, I'm pretty sure.
And yes, that is indeed a badger (not of the "giant wooden" variety...!).

Lovely entry Mike, been tempted by these figs several times, Good Luck.
-
Both great but 15mm wow
-
Elysium64, one of my favorites of the round.
-
Beautiful work on those 15mm Splintered Light Minis.
-
Ain`t the Druid line actually 20mm?
Not that I mind though, they are still cutey models
-
lovely looking UN setting Elysium
Mike at 15mm you certainly have good eyes and plenty of talent
-
Really like both of them! Brilliant work!
-
Another tough one!
Great gritty work on the UN troops- and the scene is evocative too.
Great job on the splintered light. Love these minis, and you did a great job with such a variety.
Would be happy voting for either one.
-
Toughest choice this round. Both very well done!
-
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. You could technically bill the Druids children line as 18mm, but since they are marketed as 15's, I stuck with that.
More 15mm on the way for the Tolkien round, too! I know the scale might handicap me in votes, but my entrants have faced some awesomely well-painted opponents so far. 0-4 is looking like a certainty (not that I didn't expect that, given the artistry in our community....!).

Thanks, I feel honoured to be placed in such a group, all painters whose work I have hugely admired.

You belong in that group, Ely! Ray, I figure the rookie pitcher can't complain when he's called in from the bullpen and faces the heart of the other team's batting order! I'm glad to get a chance to match up with them. Apologies to those that the baseball reference doesn't work for...
Thanks again for the encouragement. Now, I'm off to work on some "orcses" ("and they don't taste very nice, do they, my precious?").

Rookie pitcher, my butt! Those SL critters are top notch!
-
I voted for the Hungry Games, even though the honey badger doesnt give a sh*t. ;D
-
I voted for the Hungry Games
Thanks for the vote & vote of confidence! I stayed up late last night to finish the detail work on my Tolkein entry. Now, to flock & photograph, and I'll send 'em in...!

Elysium, those Stalker figures look like they are about to walk out of the computer screen they are so damn realistic.
Fantastic painting!
-
Thanks Ray. The LAM figures are an absolute pleasure to paint.
-
Mike:
Those figures are awesome! The details are excellent, and I love the colors. Very nice work. Keep it up.
