Wonderful entries both. Superbly painted, posed and photographed. Very tough choice.

Love them Richard, brilliant pic :-*
Thanks :)
I did the orcs a few weeks back, but I'm afraid to admit the time nearly ran out on the men. I finished them in just two sessions of an hour or two each, and truthfully they're not my finest. I must also confess I picked the Gondorians out of the kids' box of mangled LOTR figures, because I thought with all that shiny armour they'd be quick and easy to paint - which thankfully, they were! :D
I'd particularly like to thank my two teenage sons, whom I discover have around 500 plastic LOTR figures in various old biscuit tins - around 490 of which have been trodden on, snapped, chewed, or otherwise rendered completely unusable! >:(
Thanks also to Jimbibbly who had a sprue of 6 plastic uruks lying around which he kindly lent me for the purpose. He gets them back painted, so not a bad deal ;)
D@rth, I love the two tier setting of your pic. Very clever - and nice vegetation too.

Sounds about right lol lol lol

Love those orcs, Darth! And Cpt Blood, you're the Liberace of the LPL without a doubt! =D

As others have said, 2 superb entries, difficult to separate

Thanks Cap'n! The set-up was inspired by several two tier entries I have seen in years past (I have used a similar set-up myself in LPL Season 5) and it seemed the easiest way to get everybody in a single shot and maintains the feel of an ambush when models are set up behind on another.
I also must admit, I had to raid the bits box of a fellow LAFer to come up with the models for this entry ;)
(Thanks UM!)

Nice rusty armor on those Gobbos, Cap'!
I was working along the same lines when I became entirely dissatisfied with my eyes and skin tones and gave them up as a bad job... :'(
