Title: A Messy Fallout project (Updated 29th April)

I've been working on a little Fallout project for some months now, and I can't help but notice how often this forum pops up as I'm looking for ideas for models and terrain.
so I figured I'd join in and show off what I've got to date.

I like to sculpt and build things myself, though, rather than find good enough models.

So here are some of my (almost eternally WIP) efforts..

My affectionately re-labelled "Robobobrain". I'm trying to plan out the axle/ lower torso right now, and had to tack him together so I could playtest the rules I'm working on. (Most of the reason I currently have no time to sculpt..)

Hehe, an Alien based on one of Hasslefrees wonderful mannequins.
Which leads to the least interesting amongst my growing collection (I also have plastics from Mantic and Warlord Games) for Ghouls and NCR), gun production.

Great stuff, I especially love the Robobrain and I think the shack looks awesome.

Well, more!

I edited the first post to rid my sight of those unpleasantly shot WIPs..
And re-took them.


Firstly, I recently got me a couple of Perry Miniatures N.American homes.

I'm rather fond of this, though the scale is a little small for my models. (Mostly. The Hasslefree ones have a great fit)
I'll eventually be pinning the roof and building a base onto this to allow for interior detail, giving me some useful trader NPCs when I get my game up and running.

I also got me some of Brother Vinnis models a couple' months back, so I'll model a couple.. :3

A crapyshack. Simple construction, looks the part and has so far housed a dimwit trying to escape sniper fire during playtesting.. I hope to make about 5 of these at the very least.


And, after jumping back into Fallout 3 lately, I wandered the wastes, lonely as a cloud. I eventually crossed Megaton, and started to pay attention to the walls.
It inspired the following .. Mess.

Aluminium modelling mesh with small shreds of tissue to resemble the sheeting that makes up Megatons walls. Once I have "perfected" the look and style, I am going to attempt to use the couple of meters I have left of that mesh to create some warehouses/ larger buildings.
& the barrels are from a cheap & cheerful Tamiya 1/35 scale jerry can set. 6 of them for £4 isn't too terrible.


The following are my growing collection of super mutant bits. x3
I got a converted ogre model for christmas, and can't remember for the life of me, who made it or what he was called.
Simple conversion. Build a large gatling laser, make him a head that was better than his spikey, hairy ogrey one and turn his large axe into a super-sledge.
My Centaur is coming along - slowly, and needs for me to sit down in-game and take a crud-load of photos to get the shapes on his back just about right.
And, my super mutant sculpt is changing pose almost every time I touch him, as I grow to dislike his stance.
I intend on sculpting basic boots, finishing off his simple shorts and then finishing the details of his arms. When I've cast him up, I'll chop bits up and repose his arms and legs, maybe add armours to some versions, blah blah. I can then play Master and have my own army of them (Oh, and I'll make sure to get some Nightkin versions..).

Has been through about 5 changes since I last posted it, as I struggled to get hold of decent pictures (I lie. I was playing Saints Row when I was meant to pick FO3 back up  :'()

I'm also playtesting some rules I've written for it all, and trying to get it all into an order that'll be easy to grasp for anyone checking it out. It's set up for people to take up individual characters, either for dungeon-crawling-type games, general RPGS (speech checks included for the more willing GMs) or simply sprawling gang-wars if two players are happy to put a moment aside to create all of their characters.
I have tried to stick to the Fallout style/ system, having the SPECIAL stats dictate a simple set of combat stats and so on..
(If anyone wants to try it out, feel free to ask/ say so and I can host it somewhere in a basic form for you to playtest! :3)

VERY clever use of sprue to frame out the building!  Stealing that idea! :)

A new lady in my life has slowed progress on everything!
However, a couple of models have a few more shapes and the rules playtesting seems to be going smoothely.

Semi-current progress on a few of the super mutant models.
I gathered a few odd pieces here and there to fill in ranks with variety.
I have an Overlord being formed from an old spiderman toy (Rhino) and a Behemoth being converted from a cheap pound-land toy I found a few weeks back.

I will strive to find time to get hold of a camera that works well soon!

Just a quick question. Does the green stuff works (aka does it stick) to that wrestler figure? Never thought about doing a conversion with that kind of action figure  :o

It does. It's not a fantastic grip, but it's enough to keep it in place for gentler work.
It's easy enough to get a hacksaw and rough the plastic up, anyway!
