Title: Sub-Roman / Anglo-Saxon houses

After seeing Blockhaus's recent postings I'm even more uneasy than usual about posting my own work!

Anyway, here's my latest creations:

Since the design and construction doesn't seem to have altered much for centuries, I hope I'm going to get lots and lots of use out of these. Even though they are nowhere NEAR Blockhaus's standards, hopefully someone will find them insteresting or useful.

Very nice indeed. I'm sure you'll get away with using these for anything from late Roman provincial to early Modern. About AD300 to about AD1500, almost anywhere in north-west Europe. Versatile indeed!

Those are very nice. I'm particularly fond of the greyish-brown thatch, which looks very realistic to my eye (although it can vary in colour -- I've seen thatch that looks just like that and I've also seen it much darker; I presume it varies depending on the material and the length of exposure). I also love the little plants around the base of the walls; these small details really bring them to life.

And yes, rectangular thatched halls will do you for pretty much any period up until the introduction of chimneys in the, er, middle of the middle ages.
