Title: I'll show you my Salute Shopping list. You show me yours.
Post by: Captain Blood on April 14, 2012, 03:41:36 PM
Well, as a note to self really, I was going to jot down what's on my shopping list for Salute. Then I thought - why not share.
So here's what I'm looking for. How about you?  :)

- 2 x boxes of Perry mounted men-at-arms
- 1 x yet another box of Wars of the Roses infantry (to exploit the conversion possibilities of the new components in the new Mounted MAA box)
- 1 x box of Fireforge Templars (just to give them a try, and to interfere in Malamute's new Robin Hood fixation :D)
- 1 x box of Victrix Athenian hoplites (because they look great)
- A couple of strips of the new Pig Iron rebel / feral heads
- A few sample / test packs of Copplestone 15mm barbarians - if available
- Half a dozen more Front Rank Late C17th characters
- A couple of packs of Artizan Panzer Grenadier types (inspired by Stone-Cold-Lead's excellent painting... )
- Some more flowery tufts from Antenociti - I'm bored with purple and red now.
- Some shorter grass tufts - ditto.
- Some liquid green stuff (because I've heard good things about it, and it might help cover the joints in all that plastic, above)
- Some paint to replace my expired GW Bleached Bone, now sadly discontinued  :(

Quite modest, I think. How about you?

A few characters and beasties from em4's Dunwich range and a whole bunch of stuff from Black Cat Bases.
Other than that, it is just a top up on the paints that are running low.

After that it will be trying to restrain myself from the usual impulse purchases.
I was good last year, so will probably be awful this..... ;D

I have quite an expensive shopping list primarily due to needing to top up my Foundry Paints, with 10 sets (£80.00  >:()
I also need 3 Crusader Dark Age figures and possibaly a pack of Celtiberians, a Gripping beast boat and 3 packs of Little Big Men shield transfers for Round 10 of the LPL. Hopefully I might have a few quid left for an impulse purchase.

I'm going with no list as there's nothing in particular I need. Should be a cheap day all in all.

...

Well, we know how that's going to end  lol

No major items on my shopping list but;

I'm interested in seeing the new Forge World Modelling Masterclass book.
See if I can pick up some old GW paints - not sure I like the latest versions.
GW Washes - older versions.
At least one rule book.
Any Graven Images 40mm sets.

I also ant to visit;

Alternative Armies.
Grand Manner - seeing the latest resin models.
The Bring and buy stand.

But mainly meeting up with friends and Bloggers and having a great time chatting about the hobby.

Thanks Tomsche  :)
(Unfortunately though, I have an aversion to shiny paint, and every pot of Coat D'Arms I've ever bought has come up shiny...  ::))

Front Rank Medieval baggage train (to carry the loot taken from Captain Bloods Fireforge Templars :D :D)

In your dreams, Davy Crockett  :D

Some sort of Aztec/Mayan/Inca type. Looks really good  8)

Nice figures, are they 25mm?

Don't have any of them, but I guess they are 28mm.
Think I saw them here somewhere with some Musketeer VBCW stuff, which worked well together.

if I'm allowed off of the stand then I'm very tempted to get one of those beautiful 15mm russian orthodox churches by Total Battle. Their russian stuff has inspired a whole project.

Have some Dark Ages stuff for the new Lardies rules from Gripping Beast, having read about Ged's latest venture I think that will be it for now ;).

Have not quite made up my mind where I'm going with medievals so will hold off on the mounted MAA for now, I think :?

Peripherals - tufts flowery and otherwise, and maybe some Renedra wattle fencing.

Saga rules and dice
Some more Crusader Gladiators
Basing "stuff" (tufts etc)
Sarrissa old west buildings
Miliput, liquid greenstuff.

That was all i had planned but then Black Scorpion have just released that Dwarf Bloodbowl team so that may make the list.

Not a huge list this time more of a see what's there tbh but:

GZG 15mm & 25mm stuff.
Have a nose at Eureka stuff (MOPP marines and german bundes).
Westwind to that a look at their new Empire of the Dead game
EM4 (always worth a punt at Doug's).

And I'm sure a selection of random 'have to have THAT' purchases, although as I'm about to start building work the Monday after Salute and as such have pulled all my minis out; including the ones in 'storage' in the garage the current study is so full of lead and plastic I might just resist.

Who am I kidding!  lol

Malamute for got to mention he'll be buying me beer and chips.

I'll be picking up an order of Scheltrum deep sea divers and looking out for the following modest list:

Redoubt:

A couple more Boxer Rising French sailors
One or two Russo-Japanese War Jap field guns

Warlord: plastic British infantry

Warbases: 10 figure bases to go with the ones I've based my VSF French on

Atenociti: Autumn leaves for scattering on bases

Also looking out for:

Seated 19th century artillerymen for limbers (e.g. ACW)

If anyone sees someone selling the Darkson AEWW2 Green man and Druid figures please let me know

Other than that, I have a few notes in reserve for any eye candy that takes my fancy :)

My list:

Grymn Walker(s)... depending on cost.
Heresy sci-fi
Twilight 'Dhogu'
Bolt Action plastic Commandos
Some weapon sprues and then...

...whatever takes my fancy :).

My list:

A couple of 10mm dwarf packs from Kallistra
odd MDF bases
tin of black undercoat spray
possibly a manticore/giant/beserkers from Otherworld (depending on whats left in my wallet!)
cheap lord of the rings figs

very dull, but times are tough! I'll be playing a 10mm fantasy game with the Oxford Wargames Society, trying not to blow my flame cannon up, if anyone wants to say hello.

Hear, hear !
Had to revise my shopping list yesterday after the landlord decided to put the annual settlement in the mailbox.
Energy prices have definitly rocketed  :(

so this is what's left of it :
1 sarissa cityblock building (although I'll probably make that 2)
a bunch of EM-4 mini's
some Crooked Dice mini's
gripping beast's running dogs
some bits from ainsty and antenociti

And ofcourse several pickups for friends
