...or something like it. She is probably a great honking bit bigger. But you know what these cultist are like: always thinking they are such hot shits and able to summon the worst of the worst...
Anyway, this was going to be my LPL Chtulu entry. But by now some of you know my motto: "One day I'll show them all..."

Oh that's excellent!
Very atmospheric. Is the temple made of Hirst Arts blocks, or is it a bought piece? It's very cool whichever it is.
-
Arrrgh! More great stuff. How do you do it!!!!!
-
That's fantastic :D

It's a HirstArts ruin kit.

WOW, today is turning out to be a day full of positively awesome eye candy  :D :o
-
That's Nice! Makes me want to get my molds back out.
-
Very nice! What did you use for the fallen leaves? (I know, all this cool stuff going on in the image and I focus on the detrius).
-
Ooh-er. Have they pulled his winky off?
Well, it's certainly an interesting way to go: Bobbitted to death by a bunch of naked women...
(Which is the emoticon for OWWWWWWW!?)

I scraped out the pipe so it is basically burnt pices of Hamiltons Blandning (Hamilton's Mixture).
I am of sourse shitting you: its a mixture of verious commersial coloured saw dust with a blend of birch seed. I am guessing your thinking of the birch seeds, they sort of look like miniature maple leaves. I think they are commercially available from Hudson&Allen. I scoop mine up from the gutter (much like my wife did with me) because there's a plethora of it every spring.

Wowza! Very cool stuff.
Could you please give a rundown of the models that are showed(companies?)? Especially the critters look familiar, but I can't remember who made these.
Very nice eyecandy!

Ok Ok that is too good to be true !!
I have to ask some questions
What do you use or the moss n the trees ?
and where do you get the Great Cthonian ??
very nice stuff
-
Thanks Hammershield! Very helpful. Guess I need to plunder the RAFM stuff then...

The moss is fine grain Woodland Sceneics flock, dark gren and mid green I think.
The Great Cthonian is RAFM orderd from Battlefield Berlin.

Diary entry - January, 25.
Dear diary, today's the day we all should remember. Hammershield has showed us all that there is not only teutonic but also nordic efficiency. Dear diary, I'm speechless, this guy has a very great talent for painting, modelling and putting together some things to a beautiful scene.
Yes, that's what I wanted to say. Thanks for listening, dear diary. Yours. Prof.

:o Stunning indeed!
I know it seems a bit like heresy around here, but I was not very fond of Rafm miniatures.
...until now! :D
But what I like most about this is that You used a Thunderbolt Mountain figure!

just read it and was going to excommunicate you from the LAF
...until now! :D
then read that and thought..OK...everyone deserves a second chance
-
Wow, Hammershield this is great. Nice use of various manufacturers and the GW trees look the best I have seen. Seeing this makes me want to play a Cthulhu game.

That is a truly staggering piece(s) of miniature art work. I am in awe. Makes me want to go a-hunting for cultists.

I am not overly fond of Bob Murch's hman sculpts (he's done a lot for RAFM and everything for Pulp) but I really like his spooky stuff.

Same with me. I still have some of Grenadier's Cthulhu range and I simply like those more; their creatures were extremely nice, too!
then read that and thought..OK...everyone deserves a second chance
Please do not ever ask me about some of the WWII stuff then...

Grand work Hammershield 8) 8) 8)
-
Very impressive!
Makes me want to game Cthulhu games even more! (sanity loss :D )

hfs! (http://ballettalk.invisionzone.com/style_emoticons/default/jawdrop.gif)[/img]

Thats excellent.
-
That piece is the cat's pajamas. Are they all RAFM figs?
-
Thank you, thank you!
Some spearate pictures for those who are interested:

Overexposed to the point where it is difficult to compensate in Photoshop. Bah!
The base of the Chtonian is made to match the floor pattern of my Asylum game, mentioned in other posts. So are in fact the bases of the cultists which have shards of black and white tiles on them.
-
excellent choice of miniatures and very atmospheric painting, makes me want to make a similar setting.
Bloody creative, mate, I'm in awe

Fantastic stuff man, just great. :)
-
I thought we wouldn't see more of the asylum range!
I was very happy to see you posting more pictures of them and all painted to a fantastic standard! Wouldn't have thought of using the Black Tree figs as cultists. Idea stolen!

The thing is that those three miniatures are above the standard of most other Black Tree miniatures. I wonder who the sculptor is. Anatomy and poses are great ! It is fun to do nudes because, if I may be so pretentious, it takes you to the core of the art of painting.
This is even more true for Tom Meyer's minatures.

Kev White
-
Really?!
-
Yeah, he did a lot of work for Black Tree Design (or Harlequin or Icon at the time) years ago.
-
Really?!
he did for HArlequin the dark elves, chaos guys, barbarians, orcs, goblins and lots of other stuff, but not all of them are good, especially his Harlequin orcs are ugly

Seconded! And order placed too (I was getting some WW2 Russians anyway).
-
Are any of the fantasy Saracens Kev White's too? Some of them look really nice (while the rest don't - I presume they've had two different sculptors work on the range).
