Title: Flames of War and other 15mm ranges

 Just wondering what people use for scenery for thier games of Flames of War or other 15mm systems.

 I have started to collect a Soviet force and would like to know the best places for getting terrain for the games.Any help would be most usefull.Maybe a sticky for such links too.I am sure it would be usefull for others.

 Also what is the best way of painting the miniatures.I started with a black undercoat and have put the first colour on.This did not cover properly so will need another coating.The Soviet force has loads of infantry so that is my reason for asking.It will take ages otherwise.

I've started a mid-war project because I  wanted an excuse to buy the Total battle Russian buildings.

The orthodox church is fantastic.

I used a mid-grey undercoat followed by the primary uniform color.  Then a brown wash to bring out the details.  Then picked out the details like webbing and weapons with the appropriate colors.  I rarely highlight my 15mm moderns (sometimes helmets).  I found a white undercoat was too difficult to cover and shade properly and a black undercoat toned the colors down too much and required 2 or more light coats of the uniform color to fix.  I use Vallejo acrylics as they cover very nicely.

Most of my terrain I picked up at conventions or scratch built using images off the 'net as inspiration.

 Thanks for the mention of the Total battle terrain Keith.They have some great pieces.Any idea if they do any show's?

 Will give the grey undercoat a try with the next lot DoctorPete.It is the Vallejo paints which I am using.The Soviet set.

 To think I have three boxes of the Soviet infantry to do.

 Any more suggestions for terrain?

Ironclad miniatures do some very nice 15mm bits for the Eastern Front.

You could scratchbuild your own  ;)

A recently build village which was intended to be some kind of objective (so slightly smaller) have no use for it so if you're interested. But as seen in the photo, the same technics can be easily use for building some russian houses.

 Ironclad have some very nice pieces in the range.Bookmarked for later.

 Nice work on the scratch build Belgian.I have a garage full of foam which I will start to use for some terrain.Got a few 2x2 boards that will be getting used.

 Kerr and King do a small range of buildings too.
