Title: Zeds & Survivors [new pics added 27/4/12]
Post by: stone-cold-lead on 24 April 2012, 07:09:05 PM: I'm working on a small group of zombies and a lone survivor as a commission at the moment so thought I'd show a few rough pics of where I'm at so far.

Two Griffin Miniatures zombies

What could be a Steve Buddle zed (I know it's WW2 but it's part of the commission - I think of him as a re-enactor)

It's a mix of VGC Sombre Grey and GW's old Tallarn Flesh. First highlight is with more Tallarn Flesh added and then Dheneb Stone (another deceased GW colour) for further highlights.

Thanks, I am not as good as you are but I'll give it a try.

I went on your blog and was wondering who is the new Studio Miniatures painter : now I know ;)

Fantastic stuff all round, as is to be expected from the OP :)

Many of the Studio zombies from that set and the others released around that time are pop-culture references to movies and TV and the like. I have often wondered if the rather odd old-man-impaled-with-a-katana miniature is a reference to something that I dont know about.

Any ideas?

No problem. Base colour was VGC Hexed Lichen and highlighted with VGC Warlord Purple and then a little VGC Bonewhite. :)
