:o :D
Now, when was the Perry ACW plastics due, again?
-
Don't know if this is the right place or not, but they are brilliant wherever they are :o

Very nice, another great looking collection. You have some lovely looking figures :)
-
Thanks for your kind comments.

Absolutely gorgeous! You've given me something to think about....
-
Very impressive.

Well done! Always wanted to do a proper ACW diorama, myself. You've given me some ideas. I like the fact that the figures look like a group of individuals, rather than a row of clones, which, unfortunately, many ranges limit you to doing, due to a lack of variety in their poses or heads.
Cheers!

Wow, those are great, lots of character. You should be proud.
-
Nice pictures of 'God's own period'! Well done that man!

A Union Cavalry brigade, this is the Michigan brigade, Custer's Wolverines.
There needs to be a few red neckerchiefs that they wore to copy Custer..............
-
Wow thats impressive!
-
very very realistic collection. the kind of rabble looking orderly armie look you wouldn't get with the perry plastics.

I was just experimenting with constructing some typical ACW era 3-rail fencing in 28mm for a diorama I have in mind. What a job! It works, but it's very labour intensive. You can see why there was such a slaughter when Pickett's Division hit the fence lining the Emmitsburg Road at Gettysburg. You can't take the rails down without an axe or without knocking down the posts, with a lot of effort. You would have to climb over, making yourself a nice, slow target.

Very ! nice miniatures!
Did a very good work painting the ACW miniatures.
You can see quite the details!
thanks for sharing!

>>>Some Confederate Infantry, figures are a mix of Foundry, Redoubt, Dixon and First Corps<<<
Do these ranges mix well together or are You using them in separate units?
-
The Redoubt and Foundry sit well together, even though the Redoubt can occasionally be very slightly taller, but then people are different heights, and it doesn't jar too much. Perry figures are slighter than their Foundry ACW figures both in height and body mass, so I am not using too many of those in mixed units, and then only the metal figures as I don't think the plastics are that good. Dixons; I usually keep in their own units, but once on the table they all work well together.
First Corps, again are slightly bigger figures but still go fairly well in small numbers with Redoubt and Foundry. I would suggest you also check out the Old Glory figures, they are very much on a par with Redoubt and Foundry, and their marching figures are excellent. My units have had a complete refurbish since these pictures were taken, which reminds me I must take some pictures. I have gone more for marching units, but kept the variety within the units. In short I have tried to make both sides have different characteristics.
The Union troops are more formal in appearance, and the Confederates have a more mixed but still disciplined appearance. I will put some pics up to convey that better than my inadequate words.
