Title: NRF X-hvy armour WIP - Antenoceti Prototype *updated

Hoping to have 3D work finished and printed in about 2 weeks time.

Then its about 2 weeks to get to production moulds.. depending on how much post-print cleanup is required and if any parts need to be done in metal… in which cse + 4 weeks to the above.

It is prioritised though, so it will get put ahead of anything else in the curent queue (grav-cars 28mm, grav-cars 15mm, spider-15mm, GTK 28mm/15mm Warthog 15mm, Warthog Adv 15mm, Viper 15mm)

Pretty much ripped this from Frothers,

Edit* : I've added a few images of the new prototype above and below and cleaned out the now unnecessary text.

I do think the consensus is (or at least it should be) that "a render is not a miniature" ;)

This does look quite promising at this stage and very likely it'll be good "in the flesh" as well, but it's hard to tell how long it'll really be until it's actually available (as "in stock", not "out of stock").

Antenociti are usually pretty good with their timeline, if not with keeping things in stock  ;)

I quite like it but until I see the figure...

Well the message form Jed is:

"It’s getting hard to know what to call things nowadays. A render is really just a fancy bit of concept art imo, the actually 3D print is more like a green, although for us not even then as we cast the 3D print, then do follow-up work to get rid of any print artefacts, so even the 3D print is a WIP in some cases. Sometimes final parts such as cables or rounded elements are also added after the print…or are printed on a separate system at higher quality.

The main difference between this and something from an item that is going into plastics production is that we don’t change the detail at all. We design to a specific set of minimum element sizes – sizes that we know will print and mould and cast in resin: so what you see is what you get.

With plastics what you see on renders you may/will lose detail on during the production process, with us if there is a nut or rivet on the final model render then it will be on the final model just as it appears on the 3D model, ditto for depth-of-detail, panels lines etc. Going into plastics that detail may get lost, or depth of detail flattened as edges are smoothed and so forth.

You can lose surface detail when casting in metal, which is why we try to keep metal parts to a minimum, resin holds so much more detail."

its not for lack of trying Dew!   ;)  Flat out casting all the time if you can believe it, hard to keep some things in stock at the moment, not that we're complaining though! :-)

It's nice to be busy, frustrating, but nice :)

The NRF suit seem to have progressed to a prototype miniature state:

ooooOOOOOOOOoooooh! Those look fantastic! I've been watching the defiance games plastic hardsuits, but these look like they'll be more detailed and will probably be out MUCH sooner. I wonder how the scale will match between the 2, defiance will probably be cheaper, might work as grunts and these for specialist hardsuits

I like the overall design, but they look extremely busy to me.  Nicely carried out though!

Can't say about the scale but I'm entirely sure Defiance ones will be much cheaper. Antenociti stuff is affordable for the quality but not supercheap on the whole.

Just a few more images.

Can't say how they'll scale with Defiance, although I can only imagine it will be pretty well because I think they're both, fluff-wise, designed for a human.

I really dig the almost updated Mak vibe I get from it too.

I really like these but they will have to be reasonably priced if they are going to steer me away from the Defiance suits.

Price will be a factor, but that looks cool-scary, so I'm getting at least one. Or two.

I suppose I'll have to scrape the barrel myself and get some Antenociti stuff at some point. Probably one or three of these as well :?

I love the suits, a mix of Maschinen Krieger und Appleseed!  :-*

Edit: Sorry for the German!  :'(

It would be nice, to see the mini in production... Tell me, when it's finished! ;)
