This is the second one I've done of these but this time not really any WIP photos so I'll just post up the finished article.
It's for 28mm and it's about 300mm square.
If anyone has any questions then just shout out :)

Darned nice!
What are the roofs made of? Just cardboard?
-
That is so good. Ditto on the roof.
-
Lovely work :-* :-* :-*
A small how on the roofs would be great :D
-
Beautiful work! well done :-*
-
Thankyou kindly gents :)
The roofs are a Japanese tile sheet that I have cast up stuck on a simple frame that follows the shape of the roof gable and that frame slots into the building. Fortunately the resin isn't 100% rigid so it can follow shallow curves but there is a fair amount of glue on the frame just to make sure. The ridge line is styrene with the ridge tiles marked on with a scalpel.

Lovely stuff again Jim! ;D
Its all those lovely wee touches you use to finish your model I like the best! The grass/moss into the crevices of the buildings, the wood piles and the different textures you use!!
Any chance of a breakdown on your method of painting the wood on the tower?
-
Superb!
I like the way it's open enough to actially use as a gaming piece. So many of these very lovely buildings we see on this forum are impractical for gaming- dolls houses really. Yours is beautiful and practical. Well done.
-
That is rather splendid. :-* Now get back to Saxon England ;)
-
Really very nice. Well done James.
Now where's my castle? ;) lol

You cannot begin to imagine how jealous I am to not have thought of that one long before now :D
-
Looking fantastic!!
... though somehow I was expecting something involving loads of Egyptian tanks... ;) :D

Thank you kindly gents :)

It's quite simple, the wood is painted and then drybrushed lol
Seriously though, it's a simple as that, the trick lies in the amount of dry rushing used and the colours. The wood itself is a slightly grey brown with a hint of green and the dry rushing takes it up through about three to four separate layers. That way you get a much more subtle variation in the highlights.
Now where's my castle? ;) lol
Funnily enough, it's on it's way isn't it Steve ;)
No adoptions I'm afraid, unless they come with a fully outfitted workshop lol

Got away with it, it seems.... ::)

Excellent! :-*
What you want is some Chinese pirate types to go with it ;)
Good expensive one's, not cheap Hong Kong knock offs :D

Really cool stuff. I'm almost tempted to start a Sengoku project just to use your buildings. :-*
