I want to order some packs of them, but some time ago I have read that woodbine minis are brittle. Is that true?
Does anybody have woodbine gurkhas? Are they also fragile?
Thank you!

not brittle, just very finely molded so ankles are very thin and the rifles & bayonets bend/break very easily

I like their figures, but the ones with bayonets are just wasting everyone's time, as they are too weak to survive the trip in a post van. You can guarantee that several out of each pack will have broken off upon arrival, in my experience.
I have not experienced any breakages with Woodbine figures other than bayonets, and luckily for you the Gurkha figures don't come with fixed bayonets. So I reckon you will be fine.

I've painted plenty of Woodbines since they made their first appearance. The early casts I painted were quite brittle... ankles snapped if the figure was bent and needed to be gently put back, bayonets broke off if bent and you tried to rectify. However.... I've got a batch awaiting painting at the moment and the metal is very different form those early casts. Much softer and forgiving. Even bending back bayonets was successful.

Thank you for the information!!

I've been thinking about buying them myself - please post an update after they arrive.

I recently received about 70 Woodbines in a trade. They went from the UK to California to Pittsburgh with no breakage. I did have to straighten a couple of bayonets as you might expect, but there were no casualties.

As I´m still not sure if I am going to buy them, an update will not come very soon!

My experience of Woodbine is pretty good, but I did drop one on the floor and have to glue him back together again. The ankles, as others have said. They're slimmer than some. If you drop a Copplestone, you're more likely to dent the floor. I have quite a few Woodbine, and I like them.

There mostly fine but as others have said ankles can be a little weak. They are really nice sculpts though so its easy to forgive weak ankles! ;)

I´ve ordered some today, so I´m going to know more soon!

I've ordered about 100 figures from Woodbine. Shipped to Canada. Through our thoughtful and careful Customs inspectors (sarcasm alert). In that time, I've had one ankle snap and one bayonet come off. I think that is OK, considering. It certainly wouldn't stop me from ordering these figures.
