Hi guys,
Just thought you might like to see the latest work in progress shots from Bob Olley, they are the last two Proton Rangers (Unless I decide more actually survived and went into hiding.)
Sir Gannymede is a Space Knight who the Rangers discover in a dungeon in Planet of the Magma-Crons and Rukbat is the huge mute alien bodyguard of Lady Mira.
I hope you like them.

OMG!!!--Rukbat is simply awesome! I think he's my favorite figure from your exceptional range. I can't wait to purchase one. How tall is Rukbat?
-
Thanks Matt,
My design brief specified Rukbat to be 50mm tall, needless to say he can hold his own against a Hydrus.
I'll send a free Rukbat figure to the first person who can tell me what (NOT who!)Rukbat is based on.(No cheating, I know I told one of you out there  )
-
Looks Like an Ewok to me :D :)
-
He's based on something a lot more down to Earth.

It will be the star of this range, won't it ?
Meow,
Matt

 Great ideas guys, but its not a DOG.
-
Yes, we should have listened. He did say a different species, and (without wanting to sound like Pete going off on one about dinosaurs) aren't all domestic dogs are the same species: Canis lupus familiaris?.
But surely the Dog-Yoda is an entirely different species?
-
The Yoda dog is worth a free Rukbat in itself. I still haven't stopped laughing!

I give up
-
GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAL BRAZILIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some say they are ugly, but I find my cats snorting and almost Jim Henson-esque expressions quite endearing. :)
Yes Lowtardog, you thought you had come here tonight to read posts and make comments about Makems..... But tonight...........
This is your Rukbat.
You've won the speed boat!
-
And just to make it perfectly clear.........Rukbat is based on my Persian cat.
(I just hope he's better toilet trained!) :x
-
Incidentally, I only specify she is a Persian cat because they have the distinctive face. (I didn't buy the creature, she was free.I just gave her a home.)
I wouldn't want anyone to think I was breed dropping.
-
I would just like to say in achieving this award that I couldnt have done it without Polynikes
I would also like to thank The BBC, ITV and Sky Tv who put nothing on TV but rubbish which meant I surfed this erstwhile website
I would also like to thank Captain Gamma for reminding me he is a Makem and no I dont hold it against you (unless Sunderland beast NUFC)
Finally I would like to thank my Dog Bilbo who after fruitless attempts to guess the species, I was force dto print a picture off and show my faithful pal..who promptly ran to the back door barking..which means there is a cat there :D
-
Makem? What's that? Geordie slang for somebody from Slumberland?
I've been to Geordie Town (I did work experience 'working' for the Evening Chronicle) and Sunderland (visited the Sunderland Echo as part of the afore-mentioned posting) a couple of times, and while I didn't altogether take to Newcastle, I hate Sunderland with a passion. It is a hole. A particularly troublesome ex also lived there for a while, which doesn't help.
Oh, by the way:

(It didn't help that one of the times I went to Sunderland I had a stinking banging pounding headache after huffing a can of Harmony Hairspray. Yes, I was a complete idiot as a teenager!)

 but alas Hereford are in League 2 these days (ind you Newcastle could be joining them unless Wor Kev pulls his finger out)
The Chronicle eh, My Brother in law worked there as a student too
Sunderland to be fair has improved a lot , Newcastle has seen some huge changes over the last 10 years. I moved away some 18 years ago and get lost now when I go to visit the family

Mackem is a name Geordies call people form Sunderland it refers to the ship building industry where Ship yerd workers on Tyneside would say about Wearsiders that the Geordies would "take" the ship to be fitted out that the Mackems "made", hence "mackem and tackem" ("make them" and "take them").
It is an insult. BTW Geoff says you aren`t a real Mackem Captain, is that right?
-
League 2 (and currently in a play-off position to get into League 1) is a damn sight better than being in the Conference, where we were for ten years.
Visiting non-league grounds is a whole other universe. I don't want to go back to it. Apart from Aberystwyth Town, where we once went for a friendly. I like going there. Actually, that ain't non-league at all is it. It's League of Wales (or whatever they call it now).
Still has a non-league feel to it, though. And just in this one instance I mean that in a good way.

That is correct,I had to move to Sunderland due to circumstances beyond my control, I was originally from South Tyneside and I was born in Newcastle.
I never travel into town(City),I prefer Newcastle, its much more.......... cosmopolitan. :)

I never thought it possible that a dog could look embarrassed - until I saw that poor little chap
Oh, and I think Rukbat's based on Dusty Hill from ZZ Top
-
Great stuff, are they going be available at Hammerhead ?
-
You realise I'm going to have to put a litter tray on Rukbat's base

All is forgiven then, you are a Gordie in exile much like myself :D

I'm afraid they won't be available at Hammerhead. I expect to take delivery of them this week, then it's off to the casters.

But what do we do if he doesn't use it? I wouldn't want to try and Shoosh him outside. Dirty beasts. :(
-
Are you attending Hammerhead then Capt. Gamma?
-
Alas no I won't be attending Hammerhead.
