Well, here is my latest model. Its a huge cannon! You can do it with big or small bore, and the leg bits are all multi pose. The bullet shield is optional too. Of course all the bits are available separately too.

nice stuff, Curtis, like it!

Thats really cool. Satisfyingly massive too.
With the gas masked crew I get a Rogue Trooper "Nort" feeling from it. Very nice.

Curtis, I really like how you have been painting the more sci-fi vehicles that you have been producing recently (like the Gnu and this cannon). They look like you use a slightly different technique to that which you use for your very battered post-apoc vehicles.
I have read your tutorial on your fithy, grungy post-apoc vehicle painting techniques. I would love to see how you approach painting the sci-fi vehicles if you have the time sometime. I really like the finish that you get.

On the left, the boiler for a steam engine. The two barrels, especially the short howitzer/mortar one, look a lot like smokestacks... I could see snagging those parts from you to put into a boat of some sort!

Good stuff, Curtis, this is a very usable piece - I can see that with loads of different armies.
Much more 'industrial' than 'ramshackle' and all the better for it. :-*

Great piece of sculpting, gun and crew.
-
I love it.
-
Very well done! There are so many uses for this piece.
-
Excellent! :-* Will post about it on my blog tomorrow

Nice item; great paintjob too. You should try on some more WWI wheels and take a pic.

Thanks for the comments.
Im working on an expansion for the game I do, Nuclear Renaissance. Im trying to have all the stuff from it available on launch. Im working through the military force gang at the moment. THe recent spate of strance animals was for the beast gangs. So yes, Ive got a quad cannon to go with this trailer fitting, plus a load more figures for this faction.

Its the GW old paint, the foundation paint that is drab (dehneb stone?). The medium one. Then I wash it with a black/brown mix. One this is dry I do some clean up work over that, so carefully paint more black/brown into the bits that need it, and use some more of the drab to lighten up the raised parts, back to a mid tone. I then highlight this with the paler foundation paint, so they light grey drab colour they did. I havent checked corresponding paints from the new range. The way I higlight is to paint a bit on, then clean my brush quicly and blend the edges of the paint over the top of the dry mid tone. SOmetimes I repeat this on very high surfaces.
Thats about it. I would say the main idea is to work with the liquid/water properties of the paint. Dont struggle against them! Washes and blends with water make a lovely textured finish.

Great cannons! :-*

Thanks for the painting pointers :)

I think these would also look good as terrain. Remnants of a long forgotten conflict among the ruins of civilization. Very cool.
