I don´t usually post in this LAF place but I love to see what people are doing on this subject!!
This is a project that I started some years ago. I bought some Cephalods, and I even painted a base of them but then I stopped. I bought some more miniatures from Black Hat Miniatures (http://www.blackhat.co.uk/online_shop/index.php?cPath=107_110&osCsid=b0f3c0b5d44b23e26b160774a89a6721) at Salute and then I realized that this is one of my favourite games and miniatures (of course I haven't played). Here are some of the miniatures that I have painted, and I want some more!!

There are some more pictures on my blog (http://einarolafson.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/martian-empires.html).
Cheers.

That's a biiiig tripod!
Love the detail on the minis - the extra mottling at the front of the cephalod brains, for example, or the tattoos on the Green Men. Effective without being showy.

How many hours are there in a day for you?!?!
Wonderful stuff!
Been eyeing those Black Hat thingies for a long time but the scale made me stay away! But you've certainly done a brilliant job with them.
-
15mm works of art - nicely done.
-
Very well done. The cephalods are really nice. :)
-
:-*
Those look jolly good!
-
Really nice work. The best I have ever seen these minis.
-
Thanks. I´m very happy that you like them. As I said I´m enjoying this project, I´m trying different miniatures to see what army I´ll do.

Not Enough!! :o
Another Cephalod creation from Black Hat (http://www.blackhat.co.uk/online_shop/index.php?cPath=107_110&osCsid=b0f3c0b5d44b23e26b160774a89a6721).

those are the first cephies that have really looked good to me. ALmost good enough for me to want to add the species to my VSF setting (my personal one, not the WTNW one that I helped develop, in which they do exist).

Thanks!!
Imperial Martian Hexosaur Artillery (http://www.blackhat.co.uk/online_shop/product_info.php?cPath=107_110_112&products_id=1668&osCsid=0aef902840c2194e6c1f8c94994a887f) from Black Hat miniatures.

I'd be tickled with something as good in 28mm... :-*
Fantastic.
What he said...
I've seen the fig, forgot about the fig, have fallen in love again with the fig, now with the awesome paint. Curses!

I'm suddenly and out of the blue making up excuses for myself why the scale of these beauties isn't a problem.... aaaaaargh :P

Thanks. More as soon as I can finish more miniatures.
Regards.

The metal tones and highlights on the walkers are great! Did you paint those by hand or use an airbrush?

Thanks! I have painted them by hand and by drybrushing. Cheers

The mottling you have done on the cephies and the hexosaur are just really fantastic.
-
Fantastic paintjobs on these miniatures. It's cool to see you doing VSF stuff.
I'm predicting Black Hat miniatures will be taking in a lot of new orders now. :D

Ditto!
I bet Black Cat Bases have received a few orders due to your work on your SA project.
Black Hat may get the same benefits now!
Lovely metals on the walkers, and the organic stuff is right up there with your ever-so-high standard.
