Finally I´ve decided to play a Tusk game, using some Copplestone cavemen and a Carnotaurus Reaper I have (I don´t have yet mammoths!). Although the game was very fast (the young Og, killed the dinosaur on turn two), I liked the rules and I will go slowly expanding my prehistoric miniature collection... I'm thinking of DeeZee (http://www.northstarfigures.com/list.php?man=60&cat=173&page=1)mammoths, what do you think?
Here are some photos of the game, you can see more in:

Nice looking game.
Will be interested to see what you come up with.

I have the DeeZee Mammoths in my pile to to paint..they are very nice. I am working on some of their bears and Crocodiles at the moment. All of which are nicely sculpted and cast. Only drawback is with packs that contain multiple figures of the same animal/creature......they are the same figure. To overcome this with the Crocs I have changed the tail shape on the 3 that I have.
That said they fill a gap in the market, are not overpriced, not out of scale, take paint well and look the part.

fantastic! love the terrain as well
-
Great looking stuff. 8) :-*
I'd recommend the DeeZee stuff as well, I painted a fair bit of it a few years ago and was quite happy with how they look when finished.
-
Very nice project, terrain and miniatures!!
-
Very cool. :-*
Reminds me of old caveman dinosaur movies I used to watch as a kid.
Welcome to LAF.
-
Thanks for the comments chaps, and thanks for the info Pete.
The terrain is very simple: a desert board, some cork pieces and plastic palms.
Now I´m working on some mammals, predators mostly... :D
Cheers!

Now looking for DeeZee mammoths :D

No all that is missing is a Giant Sloth :)
I know there was one in the Ice Age range of "Dino Riders", I have it myself :)
It might be a tad too big for 28mm but then again it's supposed to be giant right ;)

Finally some update on the project: a mighty cave bear (or short-faced bear, as you prefer).

That beast looks menacing as hell. I'd love to see it fight the cavemen in a snowy landscape (hint hint)
-
Nice work :) :) :)
Keep thinking I will paint up my Copplestone cave people to do a Tusk type game and they can also be used for Settlers of the Ice Age board game.
-
Sorry Cherno, no snowy landscape... :(
-
Que bueno! Can't wait to see more!
