I just got Artizan's latest batch of Thrilling Tales figures (very nice, by the way - love the U-Boat crew!) as well as a couple of singles, including Commandant Dreyfus and Legionnaire Dumas. Can anyone recommend any colour references for the Legion, other than Osprey's book?
Cheers,
Mike

The Red Shadow is your friend

but the Artizan figs seem a bit older, more Maroc War, so more "beige"

Go to http://www.thecourtjestersstudio.com/WPM/home.html and download Issue 1. Dave has a complete step by step guide to painting the Artizan FFL.

Thanks for the links, guys. I really should check my own library more often, though. Just found my copy of Blandford Press' 'Uniforms of the French Foreign Legion' by Martin Windrow. Lots of colour!
From what I can determine, Dumas is probably wearing the white fatigue blouse and pantalon-culotte or native seroual trousers. He also wears the typical kepi, blue waist sash and cheich (scarf).
The commandant would appear to be wearing the standard khaki officer's tunic with 'mastic' coloured breeches and (non-reg?) leggings.
Here's a hard one, though...any idea what his medals could be?
Cheers,
Mike

There is an interesting website wich present Légion Etrangère uniform used during 1944-1945 campains. The base is US infantry uniform.
