Hello to everyone. I am a bit of a late starter to wargaming and miniatures etc but seem to be getting the hang of things. My area of interest is C19th Darkest Africa. This has partly come about because I am not very good at painting vehicles or masonry but mainly because my lovely wife is Zambian and actually encourages me in my hobby, occasionally putting me right when painting tribal chitenge cloths!!
As my wife hails from their neck of the woods the Ila tribe are about to become my first major project. Smashing forum!

Hi and welcome to the forums. It's nice to hear you have someone who can give you first-hand knowledge about those details you have to paint for your africans! :)

Are you hopping across on June 30th/July 1st?
With a bit of creative rota writing it could be a possibility...

Welcome to LAF.
It's nice to have a expert consultant in the family. I have a son-in-law who serves as my expert on all things Maori myself.
:) :) :)

Welcome Zulu D
I reckon Harrogate is pretty dark because of that deep grey Yorkshire stone you use in all your buildings.A few hundred litres of white emulsion and you'd see a big difference.
Always fancied magnolia myself...
