Crud! I never thought those buildings could look so good if you painted them up... I better get the 8 piece I have done!
-
Thank you, now I paint factory / depot in the same kind.
New photos soon.

Here are new photos: Factory and the vacant lot with an abandoned car. I painted these buildings in a style working-class suburb

Wow!
I will follow this :o
-
This is an awesome project. Great buildings!
-
Another great addition, Nicolo!
I will be watching this with interest as I am currently doing a Strange Aeons project, where most of what I have would travel well into something like this. You may well be helping me into the right direction of where to take this next. A natural progression, if you like.
-
Great stuff, really like the pj on the abandoned car.

Thank you for your comments. Mason, these sets will also be used for a project "Horror".
I did but still the next building will be a bank. I'll start Build me the streets and sidewalks for the entire table and continue the streetlights ... and finish painting the figurines!
-
Looking great.
A design question:
Many gamers just use the buildings to provide "background" and cover in their adventures, while others prefer to have carefully modelled interiors, with different floors that can be taken appart as the models move inside.
So... do your buildings have access to the interiors?
Thanks for sharing your great work with us.
-
Hello,
Whenever I new project of type "skirmish" I write a small ruler (in French). Here is my blog with my different rules:
http://fig25mm.unblog.fr/ (http://fig25mm.unblog.fr/)
I have provided in this rule the possibility of playing in buildings. The building is three storey demountable against the factory is in one piece but there is a ladder to climb onto the roof. It is planned in my rule that the buildings are simply inaccessible closed keys.
For indoors, I will furnish it with: http://decorsminiatures.fr/category.php?id_category=94 (http://decorsminiatures.fr/category.php?id_category=94)
It remains only to paint the bank and will be accessible inside.
-
I'll check your blog, but my french is very limited.
Fortunately now we have web translators, so I can have a general idea, :D
Thanks.

Hello,
some new pictures: street lights, traffic lights and public fountains :

hello,
The last building (Gothic influences) is the bank. It is a style in "Gotham". It lacks the name of the bank on the doors.

The Bank looks great, Nicolo!
:-*
I will have to do some research on Gothic architecture in Britain, as you are really selling these buildings to me with your great end results.
The street furniture looks excellent too.
-
Thank you, when I have enough to see them, perhaps?
Is missing the second floor I'll start painting.
-
Great project! May I ask from where the grass comes in the picture with the car and fence?

Thanks
-
Your work is very inspiring! How will you be doing your baseboard for the buildings and road furniture to sit on?
-
Thanks,
The urban material (and the miniatures) is placed on the plastic card with which I will do the sidewalks. The buildings will be surrounded by sidewalks except the factory. The streets will be made with the "Toile émerie" (for sand the furniture) or I'll try to find a coating to cover the whole table.
-
Hello,
Here the modular system of sidewalks in plastic card. We put directly under the building. Street lights and traffic lights are bases on the same plastic card.

Your board is starting to really take shape.
Excellent work on the buildings. I like the way that you chosen to give a good splash of colour to the buildings.
Keep it coming!

Thank you, now I'll try to find a covering for the table and finish the sidewalks.
see you soon

The "National Bank" in full development (lack as furniture) :

A question to the distinguished members of this forum. I wonder if I asphalted streets or paved?
(http://fotoforum.fr/photos/2012/08/29.149.jpg) (http://fotoforum.fr)
(http://fotoforum.fr/photos/2012/08/29.100.jpg) (http://fotoforum.fr)
(http://fotoforum.fr/photos/2012/08/29.148.jpg) (http://fotoforum.fr)
-
For purely aesthetic reasons, I would go for paved.
Asphalt may be cheaper, though!
What town are you basing it on, or is it purely of your own devising?
-
Actually, I prefer the asphalt because the sidewalks are paved clearer after the slightly more expensive. I build a city without taking any example.
-
Wow, this is really starting to look like an impressive city board.
-
Whoa! Just saw this project. Very nice indeed. I will follow this with interest.
I like the look of the asphalt road better, since it provides some good contrast with the paved sidewalks.
-
I am another late arrival on this thread but just like to say you are doing great keep it up .
-
Thank you for your encouragement.
I'll soon be able to buy a rug flocked gray-black in addition to sections of paved roads, which I will cover the whole table.
to be continued ...

Some great stuff on display here. :)

Can you tell us where the gold statue on the fountain comes from please?

Thank you,
- The dog comes from the series Chronopias
- The statue: http://decorsminiatures.fr/category.php?id_category=36 (http://decorsminiatures.fr/category.php?id_category=36)
but the fountains manufacturer went bankrupt.

That's a really nice looking table!
-
Looking good friend.
You are set up for some really fun looking games!
-
That set-up looks great, Nicolo.
Love it!
:-*
Have you considered using the Strange Aeons rules for some gang-on-gang action?
Just use the rules for forming a Threshold band for each of the gangs.
I think the system would work really well for a table of that size.
;)

Thank you all
I play with my rule "Mafia30" which simulates gang wars or the mafia and "incorruptible" war. The system manages random passers / lures and police.
I now construct roofs (water tower, billboards, etc..) And furnish the interior of buildings.
soon
-
Very, very nice work!
Are there going to be some car chases around those streets with mobsters firing tommy-guns out of the windows?
-
Thanks
Yes, my rule provides for the use of vehicles, shooting from a vehicle and the vehicle crach in case of death of the driver.
-
Nice! How big is you whole layout?

The game size is 80cm x 120cm.

Always good to see more of this project Nicolo. I am thinking that you might want to put a dilute inkwash on your stone walls too and maybe a little highlighting. But these are very minor comments for a super nice project.

it's true. I did not pay attention but the wall is too bright. I will grow old. thank you

That is a really nice project! Good to see it progressing.
Btw, hat about wallpapers or pictures on the walls? Would be a nice touch.
-
thank you, gentlemen,
I'll add posters on the walls of the factory as I aged and billboards on the walls of buildings and tree leaves on sidewalks, etc..
-
absolutely lovely project. i'd suggest pinning your "asphalt" sheet down with ping pong clamps or table cloth clamps, you'll get a serene surface to play on :)
Keep it coming.

Thank you. I will when I'm outside on a show.

Lovely lawkeepers. Your town is hopefully in their safe hands... despite the mafia incursion :)
Are the base sizes regulated by the rules? Wouldn´t smaller rounds one be easier?
-
Thank you.
Yes and no. The square bases can know exactly how many figures are in melee.
After that, it is easier to do than round bases. This is the plastic card that I painted and is magnetic.
-
Some great additions there, Nicolo!

It is the set-dressing that takes every board to the next level.
(P.S. I recommend that you use some Modelmates weathering liquid to the cars. It is a really quick and effective way to add some wear and tear to a die-cast vehicle and stop it looking like a toy. ;))

Thank you for the advice. I deal with vehicles when I finish the decors.
