Digressing from my preoccupation with frogmen for a moment, can i canvass suggestions for a true 25mm or 20mm figure in a bikini for conversion to a scuba diving femme fatale?
-
You might try Ground Zero Games' "Gentlemen's collectables" girlie figures range - small 25mm figures in various states on undress, some of which would suit your purpose (nude, catsuited etc). Earlier ones were sculpted by Tim thingummy of Phoenix Follies and Kev White, so they are realistically proportioned (within the limits of the genre). Later ones are to be avoided, in my view.

never looked at these before but Nadia in cat suit would work with minimal (relatively) conversion. i just need to see how the frogmen themselves scale up (with a bit of conversion themselves possibly) to see if i can use her. Good call. Thanks Steve.

Alas, another non swimmer! what is it with these divers? Are scared to go back in the water or something?

I suspect most war gamers want depictions of the figures infiltrating and/or fighting post infiltration.
Or at least the sculptors/artists want to depict them that way.
Not ever actually seen/played in a game (outside perhaps of Fantasy) where the combat occurs in the water with SEALS/etc. so you may be recreating a style of gaming. I have seen depictions of swimmers but pretty much in dioramas or kids toys.
I envision it a lot like some 3D air games with stands showing "bands" of relative vertical distance...
Congratulations, pioneer!
Gracias,
Glenn

I think that there was a Thunderball-based game that did the UK convention circuit a few years back. Two-inch figures, if I remember right.

Not sure if it's a little too big for you, but Reaper have this one (http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/scuba/sku-down/50166), which would save you any conversion work too!

IIRC that was the Staines Wargames Group that put on Plunderball (name changed by them to avoid copyright issues). If you talk nicely to them, they will send you the rules. ;)

Copplestone has some cool bikini bodyguard bigger than 25mm but not as big as some of the heroic scale.

Copplestone was my first thought. Actually now i have them the minis i have so far are about 20mm, so 28mm Copplestone is out. i did think about a conversion on one of his fantasy 15mm (they are closer to 18/19mm) females-while they have what might pass as bikinis there is probably too much animal fur clothing to cut off and green-stuff 9and the models are too nice to mess around with indiscriminately-but which i mean you would needa modicum of talent not to mess up what are very nice models)
