Hello everybody, I was looking for trees to use in my 28mm renaissance italian games, but I couldn't find any that fit well.
I am looking for trees like the typical tuscan cypress

The Roman Pine look similar to some of the smaller Woodland scenics plastic trees. Add some scatter/flock and I think they would be pretty close. You get lots in a bag so wouldn't work out expensive at all.

Agreed. I'm using WS armatures with their mesh foliage or poly fiber. With a suitable choice of the final covering scatter, you should be able to get a good approximation.

OK, this pic is from a different theme and setting, but you can see an example of the trees. These are from the large armatures bag. Smaller ones might serve your purpose better. Maybe you can also glue several small scale branches to one trunk for a denser top.
As for cypresses, I suspect you might get a plausible version just by taking dark hobby wool or something similar and pulling a pointy shape with a drop of PVA. Then just cover it with fine turf and dip in some sealant. This kind of trees/bushes have been on my to-do list for a while. They should be compact, lightweight and fairly durable.
Busch makes H0 grape vines. They're on a small side for 28mm, but occasionally it still works alright.
