Title: Conversions for Dust Warfare?
Post by: chasseur on 01 July 2012, 07:44:22 AM
Hello,
I recently got the rulebook and was pleased with the rules but my weird war figs are all SOTR/Incursion. Has anybody thought about conversions to use other figures with the Dust Warfare rules?

I've been reading the book at work to get my head around it and DW really seems to be built around the DT boxes. There are stats in the book for a variety of units that one could use with any figures (so long as each unit looked somewhat different) but it really does seem to limit the choices in army building. Also, if I'm reading the book correctly, base size is an important factor for measuring, so maybe slotta bases are too small to work?

There's a fan-based conversion for some 28mm Gear Krieg combat walkers over at Company B:

Most of the units should be fine as the base sizes in dust warfare are 30mm and Im pretty sure alot of the supernatural units have the same vibe as in SOTR. The apes can be replaced by SOTR werewolves, The zombies can be replaced with sturmzombies so most of your models can be fine, the only other things you need are packed lmg models, Sniper models and models with assault rifles. As long as your models are around the same size and on the same sized bases it should be fine, minimal conversion needed.

Seems like you just need to look at units and run a "counts as" list. Good thing you have those 10 US AI Engineers with flamethrowers. The ones all the SoTR gamers told you were crazy to pick up.
