I don't suppose anyone is going on either day and passing by the Great Malvern area on the M5 and fancies someone chipping in on the petrol? I'm going to be based there for the next few weeks but find myself somewhat transport-challenged...

Or when we do lunch with young Mr Geale? Although not sure how Tequila will go down with Thai food.. lol
-
Brilliant Show.
Yep - was good apart from the thieving baskets (again) - Antenociti's had £150's worth of airbrush stolen, last year it was DaveT, iirc, that had stuff pinched. Puts a dampner on an otherwise great weekend :|
-
Good traders wise but I was disappointed with the games on display.
cheers

That may explain lack of pics on the web then, have not been for a few years now, it has never been one of my favourite shows. Much prefer Warfare in Nov.
-
Great to see everyone again, but sorry to hear about Jed. He was behind us too :(
-
James
I thought there were some interesting games. OK alot were just a cloth with some scenery on. Nothing more than a normal game but there was some imaginary games the retreat form Moscow? The Zombie battle and the WW1 Belguim game.
What would one like to see in a good display game?
Subject, Figures, scenery or the wow factor?
Not being critical just keen to see what is wanted?

I am with James on this one, for me a very uninspiring selection of games. I remember from last year the massive Isandlwana game and the Busaco Napoleonic game. They stuck in my mind. This year I doubt I will remember many of them.
I don't want to see a normal looking game with a cloth and some road sections placed on top, I want the wow factor, I want to be inspired. The reatreat from Moscow was a good looking game. The zombie game you mention was for me just far too cluttered, ( thats a very personal view) and I don't even recall the WW1 game, where was it?
-
I agree with you on the zombie game, far too busy to take any of it in.
I didn't see anything that I bothered to photograph there, too od and jaded I guess :)
-
Haven't been for a few years. Prefer Warfare. I will see some of you there! :)
-
As Phil said, we have nt been for a number of years now, preferring Warfare in November. As we attend in the normal run a number of shows up and down the country, then shopping is not a priority, but rather games with the WOW factor to inspire and refresh a jaded spirit. Clearly cloths with scenery laid over are not going to do this for us. I want to see games a la Cecil B De Mille with scenic effects and casts of thousands preferably!
Could nt go this year anyway, I was in hospital!

I also prefer Warfare - but I would say that as I live in Reading and attend the club on very rare occasions.
I enjoyed Colours this year as meet up with some friends and found a few good VSF bargains.
I thought the B&B this year was a total scrum with the boxes of figures just piled on top of each other I hopefully nobody lost anything in the melee.
Agree that there were no stand out games - but I mainly went for the traders.

I didn't even really bother with the b+b this year. Looking at the hoggers blocking the way it wasn't really worth it.

I never bother with any bring and buy for precisely that reason ::)
Can't be doing with all that unseemly pushing and shoving over a load of old tat.
-
agreed Captain all very unseemly......my mate Rob managed to nab
2 large boxes of 10mm Franco Prussian War for a good price.......after
we pulled his near lifless body from the heaving mass of humanity...
