Title: Brigade Games Steampunk Releases
Post by: brigadegames on 13 July 2012, 10:17:16 PM
New Brigade Games Steampunk releases debuting in the store today and at Historicon this upcoming week.
Sculpted by the incredible Paul Hicks.

I haven't decided on a proper name for this range as of yet or names for the characters as the molds just arrived for these yesterday.

http://www.brigadegames.com/VSF--Steampunk_c_49.html (http://www.brigadegames.com/VSF--Steampunk_c_49.html)

BG-STM001  Steampunk: British Empire Troopers in Rebreathing Apparatus (5)
BG-STM005  Steampunk: British Empire Trooper Officer in Rebreathing Apparatus (1)
BG-STM100  Steampunk: British Empire Character Pack 1 (5)

FYI - Due to convention cutoff and us packing the trailer for Historicon, these will not ship until after we return from Historicon.

More releases to post today.

Northstar will be stocking it I believe but it'll take a bit to filter over the pond.

I was going to put in a large Brigade order last night. But some plonker was using my bank card number somhow and my bank had to cancel it out.

I'll have to wait a couple days now for a new card.  >:(

Having handled these, there's only a couple of the character figs that would be Steampunk rather than VSF (this is aimed at Bibbly and is in no way intended to spark the whole 'what's the difference' stuff again). The regulars are fine and good for Mars :)

Gorgeous figures! :-*

I don't know what I'd use them for if I bought them, but they are superb none the less. Paul Hicks just gets better and better. And kudos to Brigade for releasing miniatures like this. :D

Now these are rather nice, a lot of SP/VSF stuff I find a little OTT, these have the right balance. For me anyway.

When will all the characters be available? I only see two characters and the troopers in the shop.

Also I would be very interested to know what else is planned to be sculpted in the future? More british or also other nations?

I would be very interested in more basic troop poses (skirmish formation preferable), command pack (musician, standard bearer, nco).

Edit: sorry, I can see one of the packs is 5 characters.  :)

Really? I would have said more than a few others first, including Bob Hoskins, though I don't recall him ever in that getup.

YMMV reigns!

Order went through on 7/20. My credit card was billed. As far as I can tell the order never shipped.
Sent out an e-mail on 8/1/2012 asking when the order might ship.
Haven't heard back yet.

Maybe I'm spoiled by all the great service I got from Pulp Miniatures, LAM and EM-4 recently.  :'(

7/20 was slap bang in the middle of Historicon - July 19-22. I worked on Lon's stand for the con from Thrusday through to the time the dealer hall closed on Saturday, and quite a bit of the VSF stuff had been sold by the time I left. It may well be the case that more stock needed to be cast up after Historicon. I don't know that to be the case - I'm merely saying that it's a possibility.

As to communication, this thread on TMP should address why you may not have received a response since 8/1.

http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=276317

I'm sure that Lon should be able to address whatever the issue is to your satisfaction once he returns.

Thanks for the clear up Gallowglass.  :D

Beautiful sculpts.  I can make out what all the steampunk devices are but one.  The tube carried on the back o British Character 3 (looks like a British officer in undress jacket; love the multi-barrel revolver) has me stumped.  What is it supposed to represent?
Title: Re: Brigade Games Steampunk Releases
Post by: Dewbakuk on 12 August 2012, 08:07:43 PM
Not sure what it's 'supposed' to be but it's linked to the pistol by a tube.

How do these scale with the Warlord AZW plastics?
Title: Re: Brigade Games Steampunk Releases
Post by: Jonas on 12 August 2012, 11:17:00 PM
I don't know about this, but since it is Paul Hicks sculpts I would suspect that it was in scale with Empress/Warlord, but I would also be interested to know if this is correct.

I am planning to make an order sometime in the future. No idea when the money is there though.
