I recently came into one of the much sought after MM15 Dwarfs and am having a blast painting him up. As several folks have asked me to outline how I achieve the saturated colors that I favor I have decided to do a thorough walk through of the painting process on my Blog: http://bluesmarauders.blogspot.com/
The first part is up now and the second will be up soon.
Here is the figure in question...the one I refer to as the "Hat Waver"
and this is how far I get in the first Blog post....check it out in full for the details.

The next post will include the description of how the White and red portions of the figure are handled.

EXCELLENT START! Seeing how the Oh-So-Cool Little Guy turns out will be a treat; considering your other accomplishments, this should be something special to look forward to. Have FUN with the painting et al.
-
I remember that little fella :)
-
This little chap (great mini by the way) always makes me think of hillbillies for some reason - looking forward to seeing him develop.

Thanks guys! I've just posted up the second installment of this walk through...which brings the figure up to this point

Good start! Great character in those figures!
-
Nice mini (on my ant list if you have a twin....)
Lovely job so far (for me that would be more a less a finished mini)
-
Oh no....not done yet....needs more layers...can't get enough layers!
The putting together of this walk through has really illustrated the ridiculous amount of layering I use...no wonder it takes me a lifetime to get anything finished! lol
Oh well...I'm too old to change my ways now! o_o
Third Post is up now....and get the figure to this point

Only the fiddly bits and his beard left to do...hopefully tonight!

I have a soft spot for those old dwarfs. Love to see more!

Most edifying to see how you do your thang. Notes have been taken.
-
Cool and well painted

WONDERFUL PROGRESS! Watching the Little Guy come to life is a real treat.
With the price of minis, especially the collector's item types, taking your time is a FINE idea.
-
:) thanks all.
The final installment is now up. All thats left to do is the base...

Looks good! I recommend some color for the nose and cheeks ftw!

Really nice to see your methods in step-by-step process.
It certainly gives a great result!
Great paintjob on a wonderful classic sculpt full of character.

Sorry to be last...again. He painted up WONDERFULLY WELL; he really looks the part of the Dashing (for a Dwarf) Leader. GREAT WORK!

Lovely work but you really need to paint more miniatures.
