Hi all
I've just posted a full report of the Battle of Coln Fields as part of our Dux Britanniarum campaign. It's now 481AD and Cynewulf the Silent is pushing hard on the borders of Cynwidion.
Full SP here: http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=1019
Hope you enjoy it.

Flags, thanks. It was a cracking game.
We had a really great game last week but I forgot my bloody camera! The Saxons had all but won the battle, the British player attempted to end the game by declaring he would withdraw and surrender the battlefield to the enemy. The rules then allow the Saxon player to accept that, taking the victory and both sides not losing any more men, or he can challenge that and attempt to harry his opponent off the table and then again during the post game phase. He was already winning a major victory but wanted to really smash the British, so refused the offer to end the game and carried on.
Intead of withdrawing the British commander led two Groups of warriors in a violent death or glory charge against the nearest Saxon Group. He just, by the skin of his teeth, broke the two Saxon Groups and killed a Saxon Noble. That forced three morale rolls against the overall Saxon Force Morale. Three 6's rolled saw their morale plummet from 9 (which is really very good, almost completely fresh) to zero, at which point their whole force fled the field. It really was the stuff of legends.
Of course that's always the game when your camera is at home!

Looks and reads like a terrific game indeed. Thanks for sharing it - or rather: Please stop it, until us customers can finally join the party! ;D

Sadly, Doc, I'll have another one tomorrow. With Verulamium under siege the Britons have sallied forth to try to drive the enemy from their games. It'll take me a bit of time to sort out the pictures though. Then no more 'til next week!

I am sending out the pdf and tablet bundles today (i.e. just the cards) then the rules arrive on monday and everything is already packaged up and ready to go.
The first supplement will cover Picts, Soctti and Irish, and there will be a new deck of cards to cover all of those chaps.

PS the last AAR before publication is up on Lard Island News as well: http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=1032

Cool! I cannot wait to get my rule set, although this does mean I'm going to have to get painting...

Woohoo! Wonder how slow the postal pixies will be to Oz? o_o
More paints collected today for Saxon brown/s.

Hurrah!! Can't wait!! I have just prepped the movement bases for my Romano-British starter army (courtesy of the fabulous 'Warbases') and have my first game on 6th August, assuming the book arrives in time (crosses fingers, toes, everything...)
