It was meant to be another Wolfman remake/reboot from Universal but instead it is a werewolf/van Helsing straight to disk film.

"No guts, no glory?"

Suspension of disbelief in the anachronistic required, at the very least.

But, hey, goggles/flamethrower...

Lacepunk?

With luck, either a friends purchase or Netflix will let me give it a look.

Seems to have something of the 'Van Helsing' movie, style-wise, including a crossbow

Lacepunk?
A Stetson hat, a Gatling MG... Steampunk, rather (the flamethrower reminds me the gadgetry in  the old 'Wild Wild West TV series).
But indeed could easily be turned (as could 'Van Helsing', btw) into a Lacepulp adventure, with a touch of Lacepunk: fire siphon  (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hUP4_qyXja0/UBK3O9whhXI/AAAAAAAADnM/n5Z5VTpwAKw/s400/MelnFsi%25C6%2592.jpg)

Puckle machine-gun

and of course tricornes

Possible Lacepunk complementary source of inspiration (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=277651).
In an alternate 18th C. where monsters exist a (secret) society of professional, alchemically-enhanced monster hunters is almost compulsory :'(

"Magnificent Seven" meets "Brotherhood of the Wolf".  That sounds like it has potential.

My thought exactly.
Unfortunately, now that Shadowforge minis are sold by Eureka the 'Laughing Monk' range seemingly is no longer available; too bad, it included a few 'NOT Brotherhood of the Wolf' minis
(http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Dilwnimo0MI/SVNd7EkjvPI/AAAAAAAABLc/0kIlHxK70eY/s400/Shadowforge.jpg)
Brigade Games had (still has?) a 'Characters of Gévaudan' set.
Yet other potentially fitting miniatures (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=278634) are available, some hidden in unexpected places (http://www.drunkendragoonproductions.com/18thcentimagi-nation/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=46), and I did not even mention the numerous 'Pirates' ranges, e.g. Black Scorpion
(http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ih5rwnHCgso/TnLNfHTcO_I/AAAAAAAACek/879GhObFgO0/s400/Chasseur%252Bde%252Bloup.jpg)

For a more 'unusual' beast than a lion under the armor,  several good possibilities (http://passageoflines.50.forumer.com/syw-pulp-t363901-28.html#p2201033) spring to mind.

Thanks, great to know they are still available somewhere for the moment.
Great minis (if a little 'larger than life' for 30mm, let's say all the women are Sigourney Weaver-sized ;)),
(http://www.fighting15sshop.co.uk/ekmps/shops/fighting15s/images/lm0013-the-scarlet-woman-2653-p%5Bekm%5D200x200%5Bekm%5D.jpg)
unfortunately the razorblades-edged fan of the 'Not Monica Bellucci' Scarlet Woman is thicker than a waffle iron : same problem with the Freebooter Assassin (http://www.freebooterminiatures.de/en/catalog/421) of similar (if less blatant) inspiration.
Not to revive a current controversy, but resin would allow a far thinner (if brittle) fan, I remember details of many old Fenryll minis.
