Just started a long forethought FNG Ops campaign but set in Krazykhistan (fictional middle east country). Thanks to Ed Texeira (FNG, UW and FNG2T) & Darby Eckles (FNG Ops). Thanks to Gavin (read his FNG Ops AARs) (http://www.britishforces.org.uk/category/vietnam/fng-ops-campaign) for the motivation and also to all the other who posted FNG AAR (one example amongst hundred) (http://carry-the-fire.blogspot.fr/search/label/FNG) ;)
Setting phase :

It's a fine idea and a good system. For a small scale operations-based campaign FNG ticks all of the boxes for me. Cut out the Vietnam-centric vocabulary and it's good for anywhere. Portuguese Colonial Wars/Africa was my plan.
Good luck with this and keep us informed! :)

FNG is a great game, FNG OPS is one of the most amazing freebies of all time.
I've often thought of converting OPs to a post apoc Zombie setting.
