EDIT: I'm also looking for any sources resp. resources dealing with imperial Russian standards and flags, no matter be it books or internet sources, etc.
I'm especially interested in flags, that had also been used during the Russo-Japanese war.
Thanks!
Hi boys and girls,
Does anybody of you know which rank the Russian standard-bearers had? Were they officers or NCOs?
Cheers,
Markus

Russian standard bearers - NCOs.

I guess the main work on Russian colours through the ages is:
Владимир Звегинцов
Знамена и штандарты Русской Армии XVI век-1914 г. и морские флаги (подарочное издание),
Твердый переплет (2008)
which translates into:
Vladimir Zvegintsov
Colours and standards of the Russian Army XVI century - to 1914 and naval flags (deluxe edition)
Hardcover (2008)
Originally the work was published in a Russian-French edition in Paris with black and white illustrations, but now the Russians has published it in colours. The Russian-French edition can sometimes be found from French second-hand book-sellers, but the price will be the same for the b/w edition as for the new Russian edition, about € 200,-
You can find it here

or do as I do when buying Russian books, let Cuprum buy for you against a commission.
