Hello folks, just thought I'd pop up a few photos of the FoF game I play on Sunday - there are more on my blog for those that are interested (http://xanderswargamingmusings.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/first-steps-on-road-to-stanleyville.html (http://xanderswargamingmusings.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/first-steps-on-road-to-stanleyville.html)) - The games saw
Belgian paracommandos mercenaries trying to re-take an airfield from the Simba rebels. Despite the tide of war swinging both ways, the rebels won, with the mercs taking heavy casualties and being in a very dicey position just holding the control tower at the end...
Most of the figures are mine, with almost all the scenery being John's.

Great looking game
I agree. I read a couple of volumes of "Mad Mike's" memoirs of this rather nasty conflict some years back, you've capturesd the feel really well by the look of it.

Looks great, love FoF.

I really like the look of the game.
A period I have wanted to get onto, but have way too many periods already.
Thanks for letting me enjoy your photos.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone :D The next game will be in early september :)
In regards to figures, you're right about TAG, Mongrel & Brittania. There are also bits from Foundry (Darkest Africa), West Wind (Gothic horror), Warlord (Pacific USMC with head swops for MoFo beret heads) & Tiger (Hotentots)

Great looking game, it certainly says "Africa" to me. The terrain looks spot on, I can almost feel the heat :)

I must also say Thanks for the kind comments about the scenery chaps tho I am in the process of making some more Jungly bits to better reflect the Congo. As Xander has already said the next leg of the Road to Stanleyville is Early September so watch this Space!
