So after finishing Lord Uxbridge, the next command base is in line, this time Napoleon Bonapart himself:

The first mini is done, one ADC:

Up next is Mameluke Ali.

This is great work. There must have been no finer sight than the appearance of French Napoleonic Senior Command's widely and brightly uniformed entourages. :o
-
That's really come up well, Burkhard! :-*
This NMM stuff is becoming better and better for you all the time . . . maybe one day I'll be brave enough to try it! lol
-
Thank you guys!
@joroas: I have to say compared to the Uxbridge base I painted the other week they lack some bling, but they sure look colourful. Especially when you get Mameluke valets, light cavalry ADCS and Maréchals with all their medals!
@Greystreak: Oh I will get you one day! And the most complicated part is picking the colours. For the painting you just just need a steady hand and you have that!
-
You certainly are productive but also producing quality stuff as well :-*
well done
-
Those are two of the finest painted Napoleonic figures I have ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous!!
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you both a lot!
But it is another day and another mini finished, this time Maréchal Soult. And here he is with lots of background info (do not worry, it is graphically set apart, so you can just scroll over it if uninterested):

While I said that it might take till monday, I managed to finish this mini early, so here he is:

That is a superbly painted command group. Funny that ol' Boney looks the least colorful with his grey coat. The others are show-offs! lol
-
Thanks. Yes I thought much the same... part of the reason I managed to finish him today after all!
-
Lovely work on them all, well done.
Cheers,
Helen

Thank you, Helen!

Now that the main characters have been painted, it is time to start with the base. Here is the step by step with thoughts on base composition and visual weight:
