The BTR-40 and BTR-152 are casting with JTFM. So here are the next two masters being printed right now. I'm on the fence as to having these available at shape ways since the prints go through a thorough hand detailing and rework before casting. maybe I'll make them available print to order in another scale.
Anyway, I've shown this before, but here we have the German Wiesel! The kit comes with both rear hull options to mount the TOW launcher and the 20mm turret.

Also just about ready is the Russian BTR-50. I imagine there are all sorts of uses for this one.

What's next for moderns? Uh... not sure yet. I'm open to suggestions....for the next month or so, I'm back to sculpting some interwar vehicles.

Company B
I'll need to make some proper heavy weapons for these as well I reckon.

OOH OOH! A BTR-50! Now I'm a very happy man. It looks as if you will be taking large wads of my cash in the near future. May I suggest that doing some of the Polish/Czech variants, the OT-62 series, would be sensible. You have the basic vehicle and the TOPAS saw quite a lot of service around the world in various armies.
Now if you are looking for more suggestions.....
There's a LAF member who goes by the handle of Col. Stone who happens to produce some wonderful modern Chinese. Save for a ridiculously overpriced diecast tank nobody does any suitable Chinese vehicles and I suspect that the quirky/ cool factor alone might generate some sales. My personal preference would be for the ZBD 2000 series. They look cool, you get an IFV and a light tank out of the same basic hull and because they are mostly flat planes they should be pretty easy and quick to model using 3-D printing. They look very sci-fi so I reckon there would be cross-over sales potential.
-
Downside is they would be fairly large bits of resin. That said, if they are kitted like your Mercedes G-Wagen models they need not be heavy lumps of resin. I'm up for three of each to get the ball rolling.
-
Mr. "Stone" and I have been talking ;) A few smaller projects first.
Big resin bits don't bother me. We have a few resources to be able to cast economically if need be. The ZBD 2000 does look interesting, and I'd rather any models we did had troops from someone to go with them rather than not.

Cv-90, It has to be done! :D
Or an aavp7
-
I would love to see some trucks and other armour/vehicles used by the NVA during the Vietnam war.
-
Or an m60 patton tank for all the ColdWarGoneHot fans out there.

I've just had another thought. Is the running gear for the BTR-50 separate? There's a range of vehicles that you could work up. A decent PT-76 would be be welcome. At present it's a choice between the fairly poor Solido 1/50 version or a slightly dubious looking 1/56 version from the Jungle Rot range. The Chinese produced their own version too, the Type 63. There's even a modern update, the Type 63A.
Basic hull and turret variants? Ok the Type 63A would need a lengthened hull but if you did the turret you'd also have the most complex bit of work for the light tank version of the ZBD 2000 done.

Carlos are you a mind reader? Stop giving away our secret Plans! :D
Yes, plenty of soviet and Chinese gear in the pipeline. 3D tools are a curse....

And a blessing! :-*
I have some really nice 1/3000 scale Italian heavy Cruisers from WW2 for General Quarters from Shapeways.

Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, you are feeling sleepy.....
And yes, your car keys are on top of the fridge, where you left them. lol
-
If you do make some Chinese vehicles (even in 28mm) I'll buy em. I need some stuff like that.
CV-90 would also be cool.
-
Carlos the superspy, where have you hidden the surveillanceequipment lol
Love the wiesel, will look nice with my leopard 1's..:)
-
Love the Wiesel. I'll take a couple, please.

BTR-50 model is now complete and going to print! Here's a render that shows all the hatches and such that can be removed.

Thanks go to Shane Smith for the great 3D work! Now it's off to print, with a few extra sets of tracks for a couple of secret projects.

I could definitely find a home for a BTR50!
-
Very nice indeed.
Sorry to go off thread but a couple of questions... what would the postage be on one CoyB-MOD08 - Mercedes G Wagon and one CoyB-MOD07 - Mercedes Light Infantry
Vehicle to the UK?
And do Eureka have any plans for a German crew for those?

Phil, email Nic at Eureka. I've suggsted this to him already.

Does not hurt to ask. I will have the Mercedes Wolf variants ready by the end of the month (I hope) and the short body P4 is currently in the mold making queue with JTFM. I also have the master for the 4 door version ready to go :D
In any case, there are 4 versions of the Mercedes G that will be available by this Fall, as well as two variants of the Wiesel. Some Modern German crews would make sense!

Hmmm I might go for the mil versions that'll give me time to raid the kids piggy banks... ;)
