It is time again to let you know that Crisis 2012 is on november 3rd.
Be aware that we have moved to a new venue called Hangar 29, an eventhal in Antwerp next to the river Scheldt.
Free parking as usual. Only a few minutes away from our old venue.
Open from 10.00 till 17.00 for an admission fee of 8 euro
Free figure for the first 1000 through the door. (as usual beautifully sculpted by the mega talented Paul Hicks and casted by the equally gifted Griffing Moulds.)
Be aware that the Dockx hotel is not open in November so if you have booked there, please check with them for other possibilities.
More info on our website :www.tsoa.be (http://www.tsoa.be) follow "Crisis"

Here it is : the free Crisis 2012 figure for the first 1000 through the door.
He's Peter Minuit who was born from Belgian parents but worked for the Dutch government as a governor of New Netherlands in America and founded new Sweden. He bought Manhattan from the Indians for 24$ worth of trinkets (hence the chest)

Lovely figure once more! ;D And a good reason to visit CRISIS 12 (as if one would use that excuse ;)). "Belgian parents but worked for the Dutch government" & "He bought Manhattan from the Indians for 24$ worth of trinkets"... Are you sure his parents were Belgian instead of Dutch? :D If so, they probably were from the French speaking part of the country where they are still very good at gaining territory and making the "natives" pay for it at the same time... lol lol lol lol
-
He was a Walloon. OK technically it's Germany now,but hey. In those days it was part of the Spanish Netherlands. As the northern part was called holland, the soutern part of must have been Belgium.
-
He was a Walloon.
I knew it! Did he also over-tax his people? lol
-
I think there are better place on the web for this kind of propaganda.
Please keep this forum politics free.

By the way, for the Spanish army of those times you had Italian regiments, Spanish regiments and Walloon regiments and even German regiments
Wilst for most of them it's pritty clear (more or less) Walloon needs a little bit more of explanation, it just meant that the recruiting area for this regiment was in the area now called Belgium (more or less)that is also the Flemish speaking part. The regiments of Deynse (Deinze near Ghent), Westerlo (near Antwerp) and Grobbendonck (even nearer to Antwerp) were all labelled as Walloon regiments. Nothing to do with nowadays politics.

Great Figure Johan.............looking forward to seeing him in the
flesh at Crisis 2012.............. ;)
