Title: Sources for cyborgs
Post by: GnomesofZurich on August 28, 2012, 11:48:38 AM
Hi guys,

I'm looking to put together a cyborg faction for my post-apocalypse game (rule set TBD, although I'll take recommendations on that as well). Any suggestions on good sources of 28mm to 32mm cyborgs? The main thing I'm looking for is that it is clear that each figure is (or once was) human - I'd prefer to stay away from figures that could be confused with robots.

Places I know carry some nice cyborgs include Ramshackle Games (http://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=23_40) and of course GW has its servitors and Necromunda pit slaves. I plan the centerpiece of the group to be Dark Age Games Abomination (http://dark-age.com/shop/skarrd-abomination-1.html), once I can find it from somewhere with reasonable shipping. Dark Age Games (and by extension, CoolMiniorNot) charges ridiculous amounts for shipping internationally.

Any other suggestions? I know Reaper has a few, but I'm also sure there are some gems out there I've missed.

I like the "Jotun" miniatures from Hasselfree. They might be too robot-y for you, but I think they would work well as cyberzombies. I once bought them to use as Quake 2 style Strogg cyborgs.

Neuroshima Tactics has an entire faction that is cyborgs, I believe.
Dark Age games has some cyborg types in their lines, but they have a unique aesthetic that might cause them to clash with more mainstream cyborgs.

There might also be some suitable types in teh vast Infinity range.

You might want to consider some of the Syntha  miniatures from Void 1.1 and the Urban War lines.   Look for Biomechs.

Reaper Miniatures has an expansion set of cyborg parts you may find useful and two Cyborgs (a few other Shadow types also if you check the Chronoscope line). If you order via Miniature Giant you can get a nice discount (not sure how overseas shipping is).

You can also check out Mega Miniatures Sci-Fi line...they also have a "parts shop" for bits. Very cheap figures cost wise. Quality is pretty good.

There's also "Burnout - Cyberzombie" from IWM's Shadowrun line. He is in 28mm scale (as opposed to 25mm like the other SR minis)

Thanks guys, lots of great stuff here. Particularly like the Puppetswar bits. The Megaminiatures android cult figures are pretty weird, but have their own sort of charm.

The Kryomek Cyclos have a slightly cyborg appearance to them.  They are prisoners with control units that look like cyborg add-ons.  They are available from Scotia/Grendel.

They work well with some of the older Warzone Cybertronic Chasseurs.  Later versions of the mini had helmets and more militant uniforms, look for the older ones.  They are often available from Prince August

The Warzone minis are a bit larger and make great muscle for the smaller Cyclos.
