Does anyone have any information on the year of production of this Chaos Spawn model.

I assume that it is a Citadel figure and I also suspect that it predates 40K. Was it part of the WFB releases or is it one of the Citadel fantasy releases?

Going by memory I recall sometime between 1994 and 1997, so a good few years into the 40k years. I think in the states here it was released just on the fantasy side, but I can't say for sure. Someone else can probably offer a more certain answer. Might have been in the wave of releases more or less following in the wake of the chaos army book that came with cards in a box, for, ah, fourth edition.

THIS (http://www.solegends.com/citcat1998/1998P127-02.htm) is the earliest appearance I could find, from the '98 annual. Out of curiosity, why the interest?

All I remember was that it was a pain in the arse to assemble. And that you had to rummage through the blisters to get the best bits. Or risking having a pair of the same heads. And I reckon 98 should be about the time it was released :)
