Over the last weeks it felt very good to paint some High Elf models shown in the Hordes of the things thread so I tried myself on some Swordmasters and a hero.
This could be the beginning of a High Elf army... lol

They are painted absolutely gorgeously. If I had just seen the picture I would have guessed they were Mr Bradleys work and that is meant as a compliment. If you were to do an army to this standard it would be unbelievable.
I once did these, no where near this quality mind, as part of a thousand figure plus comission I did years ago (which is still in my attic although I was paid for it) and remember they were some of the more enjoyable to paint.
-
Please, please, do a full army. Those are wonderful! I'm not usually a fan of NMM but that's just great!
-
:o :o
Wow those are stunning! Keep going!
Cheers,
Blue

Beautiful, subtle work :-* :-*

Holy Lord those are sexy...
-
Thank you for nice comments - glad you like them :D
-
Fantastic work! I love the blending of the turquoise of the helms, the garnet-like gems, and of course the NMM work on the metals.
-
Unexpected :) But very nice, really like them.

Beautiful, subtle work :-* :-*

-
Wonderful painting. This is high-class :-* :-*
-
Wonderful.
Just curiosity, how long did it take you to produce miniatures of that quality ?
-
Fantastic !! :o
-
Agree with everyone else -they are wonderfully done.
want to see more!
cheers
-
I am with the Prof. on this one unexpected and wanting to see more!
-
Wow, so much comments ;D
Thanks for watching.
It take me 2,5 hours for every swordmaster and ca. 4-5 hours for the champ :?
But its worth i guess...
-
It'll be a stunning army :-*

I knew I shouldn't have asked. That's very short to acheive this kind of result.
I'm a slow painter and a depressed painter now :p
-
Yes, it's amazingly quick for such a great result. Wish I could paint half as well in twice as long!
-
Thanks for compliment
@ Treebeard
sorry for telling - next time i will keep silent :)
-
Great paint!
tt43.
-
Holy cow :o those are fantastic! :-* :-* An army painted to that standard would be amazing.
-
As much as I loathe those treacherous Elves, I have to say your painting skills are amazing, a whole army would look stunning and something to be more than proud off!
-
stunning paintjob! :o
As said, an army painted at this standard....well, it would be delicious.
It would be tasty. Nice smooth pj's.
-
Let me qualify this remark by saying first that I detest Warhammer, and I hate High Elves...those are freakin' fantastic! :o
-
My balls! :-*

Thank you all for nice feedback :-*

Nice!
:-*
Love the colour combinations.
Beautiful.
-
Disturbing :-*
-
High quality paint jobs. I also liek the original choice of colours.
-
I missed this first time round - so I'll say now, absolutley gorgeous work. The painting is beyond excellent, but as a few other people have mentioned, it's the non-standard colours which make these really interesting. It's a very welcome change from the standard white-with-a-bit-of-blue and gives them a a very different look from the usual. Very impressive, keep it up, is what I say!
-
Don't tell my Goblins, but I really enjoy what you're doing with the Elves. The brushwork, basing, & especially your color choices are BRILLIANT...it's no wonder Elves are SO stuck up. GREAT WORK!
-
Just so beautiful.
-
Magnificent :-* :-*
-
Beautiful looking army! Well done!
-
Thank you all for so much nice feedback - the best motivation :)
-
Stunning stuff!!! :-*
-
Very nice!
:-*
-
Not my 'thing' at all - but I have to say these are magnificent! :-*
-
Exceptionally skilled brushwork there sir. No doubt about that, and the NNM is very good.
However, for me, the figures overall look a bit too 'washed out' and pastel. I think they need a bit of a stronger tone to the colours. Especially given the brightly coloured bases which sort of overwhelm the minis.
-
Thank you for comments and critics.
I changed the banner colour from yellow to violett and will show pictures of the bsb if i have completed him.
-
Personally, I love the delicate colours you use on your models—it makes your work very distinctive and dreamlike, and really matches the High Elf aesthetic, I think.
-
Too good!!
Just don't buy any of that silly new stuff, continue with these awesome infantry your doing, maybe some cavalry.
-
Finally some old stuff done. Hero done, BsB done, Bolt Thrower Crew done!

-
Thank you for your motivating words :)
Next will be Alarielle who will serve as mage in my army...
-
Only just seen this - quite breathtaking!
-
Some 20 years ago I wanted to build a high elf army. I've never managed to do so because I've never considered my painting skills good enough. I still believe a high elf army should look imaculate and cleaner than any other army. And you, Sir, have managed to do that. This is truely amazing and just the way they should be. I especially love that you managed to use a few colors I don't usually associate with high elves and still make it look great.

Thank you very much for this compliment - the best motivation to hurry with painting 8)

These are lovely all around. I really like the purple and turquoise color scheme. Congratulations.
Oh and Svenn:
... as part of a thousand figure plus comission I did years ago (which is still in my attic although I was paid for it)
You clearly have discovered a vastly superior business model that you must share with us.

Thanks mate.

She's already a BEAUTY. I look forward to her final form...especially what you do with the base. Keep up the GREAT WORK!
-
Your painting of the jems is really stunning, they grab my eye time and time again.
-
Those are just beautiful. I don't feel like picking up a brush ever again. You have set the bar.
Love the colors you have used and the bases are very realistically done.
-
Lovely work although the green on the archers seems a bit flat :?
cheers
James
-
Great you like it.
@ jimbibbly
Yes you are right, I have to give them some freehands... later :D

Your wish is my command :)
Not a freehand but a small improvement. I have added a shield to one of the crew member.

Very nice. Even in the soft lighting I can see the excellent shading.
...
You do realise you haven't got a mount for him, right? :D
-
Hi,
lovely Elves they are indeed. Even if the are Elves and dress in ladylike colors. But after all thats suitable for Elves, isn't it?
Keep em coming, they are great, I'm just jealous of your painting skill :)
GS
-
That's a great paintjob! I never really liked those plastic silver helms, but I get the feeling that your paintjob may make me change my mind! Keep 'em coming!
