Title: Four A Goblins
Post by: Thantsants on 13 September 2012, 12:13:24 AM
Hi one and all - finally got around to painting up the rest of my Four A goblins that have been skulking round the back of the paint queue for far too long.

They're lovely minis, packed full of little details - just need those mounted ones now Andy!  ;)

They join the first five I painted for the LPL season 5 -

 - to form a nice little warband, 15 strong.

Command Group

All the little aquatic/seaside details are brilliant - shell shields and armour and the like  8)

I decided to echo the shield design from one of the original Soggy Bottom Boyz' shields on their standard.

I tried to go for a tortoise shell effect for the champion - not sure I nailed it 100% but I quite liked the effect anyhow.

and the rank and file - if you can call such individualistic fellows as these rank and file -

I'm sure there's a very good reason this fellow is keeping a tight hold of his little pet - they seem to be quite de rigeur this season  ;)

As its been well over a year since I painted up the original five goblins matching skintones was going to be a pain - so I didn't bother! As I said, they're an individualistic bunch -

I was quite chuffed with how this chap's shield came out and not an intricate shield design in sight!

Here's one tooled up Gobbo  >:D

Another archer

and another spearman with a killer grin

Might have to finish off my Bederken Dwergs in between Norse, amazon and Slann for my Lustria project, and give these little fellows a trot out with Dave King's Skulldred rules - been far too long since I had a game...

VERY WELL DONE! You did a GREAT job bringing the Little Green Lads to life in your own cool style. I really like the way you did the pebbly snake skins; the pattern is TERRIFIC.

Lovely miniatures and a great paintjob. What a warband, mate! Love the sea theme: the banner is wonderful and really perfect for them. Very well done.
And that two-heads champion is really fantastic. I'll have to paint one sooner or later.

God damn, these are all the flavours of awesome. I love the patterning you used, especially on the hooded guy. These lads are choc full of character too, what a great warband they make.

Be my guest  :)

Great news Andy on the additions, they're shaping up into a really nice little range. Was there a mention of crabs at some point or have I been reading Island of the Lizard King too much recently? Come to mention it - Styracosaurus would make a good mount too  :D

Have you released any pics of the latest eleven goblins and lizards - can't remember seeing any anywhere?

Fear the Gonchong!

These are some great-looking little classic-style models and you've really brought them to life. Really nice stuff.

Saw these on your blog, but didn't have time to comment then.  I do really like these minis and with one of your paintjobs I like them even more!  Excellent work.

More bow's can be added to the range.Alway's nice to have more input into what is needed.Crab's should be released in a few months time.Just back into work after four months twiddling my fingers.Need to get caught up on some bills first.I am sure people will like the new pieces Kev will be doing. No pictures released of the new pieces yet.Want to keep them under wraps for now  ;).

Thanks for all the nice comments folks  :)

Glad to hear you've found gainful employment again Andy and that I hadn't just dreamt up the crabs!

More bows and spears would be good - they are gobbo's so we'd need at least 30 different minis for each unit  ;)
