Title: Relatively cheap, prepainted pulp miniatures
Post by: superflytnt on 18 September 2012, 09:47:51 PM
Not sure if you all know about this, but if you've ever played Arkham Horror, you might have seen that Fantasy Flight has some seriously nice looking miniatures that can be had as "accessory items".

The long and short is that $3.99 for a miniature is a good deal, but to have it pre-painted is kind of ridiculously awesome.

I have a few, thought I'd share for you lot who might've not known about this.

Yeah.. I paid some dude on BGG a little money for photos of the minis so I could use them as standees :)
The paintjobs aren't that great, but with a little bit touching up they can be brought to a good standard :)
It's unfortunate the postage costs from the U.S. are so high.

Thanks for the information superflytnt, I have been looking for some decent figures that would work with my games. These figs will fit the bill nicely.

Regards.

You're welcome!

There's also another option that I didn't consider until last night...there's a great Weird War II game called Tannhauser made by FFG and if you're into "Nazi Cultists" then the minis there are pretty damned fine as well. 10$ a pop, which isn't great, but better paint jobs than the Investigators, although not 6$ better.

There's Americans, Germans, Russians, Japanese, a Minotaur...and they're available in the UK at any outlet that sells hobby games (well, no GW stores...)
