Gorgeous.
-
lol lovely Pieces,i suppose you start the Turbine in your Opponents Gameturn lol ;)
-
Love the table! What did you make your ruined road pieces from?
-
Thanks for the comments, :)
I made the roads from a Ikea plastic cuttingboard the bendy type, then I cut it with a scissor and painted it with black paint and different drybrushes.
-
Yea, please consider the road idea stolen, maybe the turbine but I would have to watch the material to not cause injury mishaps!
The table is amazing....is the phone lines a problem to work with with the cords in the way?
-
Only when you move em,LOL :D
-
Great work, man. I'm jealous.
-
That's a fantastic looking board, and I love the characters you painted up too.
Post some battle reports when you get a chance!

Nice, I've got those lying around somewhere. if the ex doesn't take hose with her, I'll definitly try to recycle them into wasteland roads :D
-
Very nice! I love it all, but especially the work on the helicopter and the use of salt to help the process. Great job! Which brand weathering powders do you use?
-
I use different weathering powders but the ones i have just now is: Warpig.EU and MIG pigments.
-
Lovely stuff!
Your Post-Apoc terrain puts mine to shame. :'(
-
Barvao! Very... realistic?
-
Very nice stuff. :-*

After some time I have now painted the Road guards from Lead Adventure available here! http://www.lead-adventure.com/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=46 (http://www.lead-adventure.com/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=46)
Now let's get on to the pictures!
These figures were painted in a very urban paintscheme with greys and greens, and of course the goggles and lenses painted with a blue color.
On display on my terrain road.

Looking good Raxxus!
I love the rust on the terrain pieces and the Road Guards are very impressive.

perfect mix of greys and greens there, nicely done :)

Update:
Not much new stuff but i made/painted this sandbag terrainpiece yesterday.
Made from GS, balsa, foamboard and corriguated cardboard.
The helicopter on the otherhand is a Smer 1/48 scale easy kit.
:)
-
Just finished a ruin as a start of some more urban terrain peices.
Its made of foamboard, 1:35 bricks, foam, sand and cardboard.

Extra pic to show some details.
What do you people think? Comment.
-
It's obviously been a long, long time since someone lived there. Nice work.
-
I think I want to play in your games!
-
Lots of cool toys.
Love the details of your buildings. :-*

Hello,
A small update,
A 1/48 scale Hobbyboss STRV 103 "S" with minor modifications.
shown with my Hazmats (from Hasslefree)
-
I'm likin' those. Building is perfect and the S-tank is suitably unique. Works well with the Hazmats.
I've been eyeing a Wiesel lite-tank for something similar. http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/revell-135-german-wiesel-2-leflasys-aff/ (http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/revell-135-german-wiesel-2-leflasys-aff/)
-
Some progress!
Heres some figs I have started and finished(the middle one isnt finished in the pic)the left one is a leadadventure fig.
A 28mm handgun that I sculpted for use on a sculpt later on.
And a figure that i sculpted based of the Left for dead 2 character Nick.
-
Absolutely smashing. :-*
I remember back when starting wsrgaming we lamented that all the buildings were always ruins (we played 40k style games). But today I rsyher miss the look of a proper ruined modern city dcape. lol
-
Very nice terrain and models.
-
Very nice rubbish around the building. I'm struggling to get the right look on my rubble.
The heavy armor mini, practically in an EOD bomb suit is quite neato. I want to buy one.
-
(https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-xdiEXi9yVe4/UM4uDzYvQnI/AAAAAAAABvw/PMRIEK1jO7Q/s912/SAM_0944.JPG)
You mean the middle one? because thats a converted warlord games plastic british with GS and plasticard.
-
Cool! You should post this stuff up in the post apoc wargame sfoum!
http://s1.zetaboards.com/Post_Apoc_Wargames/index/
-
Really nice work.
-
Not really sure if these are suitable for cold war stuff, heres my Mongrel Miniatures russian pilots:
They look better in real life.
I think im gonna repaint one of my rusted helicopters to be a "newly" crashed one.
-
Heres all my finished apoc stuff in one picture
(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-7izHLkS6XVo/UYFV_iJL68I/AAAAAAAAB-M/rMnZumZSFZs/s912/SAM_1007.JPG)
One new thing is the Outpost piece with the searchlight on it, which I just finished painting.
If there are any suggestions to improve it I would like to know.

-
Some lovely terrain you've got there.
That S tank reminds me of one I have somewhere in the basement.
I think I know where it is, but I had completely forgotten about until I saw yours.
-
Very nice, you've really captured that bleak, post apocalyptic atmosphere. :)
-
Thanks! :)
-

It's where Fighty Wombles to their best soldiering!
Nice work Oliver
-
A bit 2d art coming up,
(https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8I-QKkIGYuU/UhfM6RH2MPI/AAAAAAAACIk/xSa3lvcwPJg/w1358-h764-no/teh+bridge+2.jpg)

Very atmospheric!
-
That's some great looking stuff that you've done there. You've really captured the desolate, scorched land look.
-

Opinions about this sculpt?,yay or nay?
-
ok... how about now?
anyone have any sugestions/opinions,do you like it or not and why.
-
I'm useless with GS, so well done, very impressive.
I'm not sure what your going for but he looks a bit too bulky to get around. Kind of reminds me of the bomb disposal outfit. Just my 2c.
Cheers
Matt
-
Tried to creata a good scene with the terrain I made, heres a picture of it.
-
Now that's atmosphere 8)
-
Great shops skills Raxxus, the scene really comes alive. My favourite part are the detritus bricks lying around. They are awesome.
-
(https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-DqQZpUYeKX4/UrRQ8yrZKwI/AAAAAAAACNw/7G6EcsbLM_Q/w666-h888-no/IMG_1067.JPG)
I think i'm calling this sculpt done if no one has any more ideas/comments.
-
I really like him, i would love to have something like that in 15mm!
One thing though, for saying he is wearing a lot of armour, he has no helmet.
-
And he's finished:D
(https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/ZuIhhMq-9OqVdv7JBiNrk6cV9lgOU2WXr77uSeIAsGQ=w666-h888-no)
Allthough the picture aint that good, and I could possibly repaint/highlight the headgear a bit more.
-
Turned out well, great job!
-
Thank you :)
-
Some quick questions here,
Does any of you know how big the maxmini gasmask heads are in comparrison to gw,hasslefree and pigiron?
also does anyone know where ot get good looking wheels?, im looking to build a small/medium sized armoured vehicle.
-
You could try a Tamiya 1/48 ww2 kit as a basis, that has wheels, an interior and exterior! :D Ive seen some scratch build wheels from very fine strips of styrene. :? Not my cup-o-tea though.
-
So it's been a while, but that doesen't mean I haven't made progress with my Projects.
So heres a few new Pictures that I haven't showed Before.
First off is the finished mercs/military types.
Next is a Heavy from an unspecified faction/Group.
I've also painted up my Russians from mongrel miniatures as Metro lastlight Red line Soldiers.
The last painted Group is one I have had laying for almost a year(unpainted) Figures by Hasslefree.
But this is not all, I also have two WIP Pictures of Projects the first of which is a mutant and the other is a Walker/warmachine that has laid dormant and waited for decades only to Wake and drone across the wastelands.
Looking forward to any comments and critique.
Raxxus.

A Karskin/however its spelled right? Are those resin now? If not it would've been hell to tear out the original gun to stick in your's probably. Where's the minigun from? Hasslefree? He reminds me of a heavy from that game Rage (youknow with the welder's mask faceplate and all). That pauldron armour's a cool idea.
Is that a Games Workshop Ork you're using for the big guy? That's a 40mm-ish base right? That company's released so many new models that I don't even know if its one of there's. Good work on that bruiser. He kind of has a Rage style look about him too, though I guess that goes for any mutants in salvaged armour. ^^
That big mech reminds me of something from Enslaved or Bioshock. The bricks about its top are great. How're you painting it up? Rusted to hell, or just dirty (the advanced nature of the machine keeping it in a decent condition)?
Good work on that lot anyhow. That mech's massive, I guess the challenge won't be finishing it, but rather finding an excuse to actually use it in a game. :D
-
Thats the good thing, I don't game so I can build anything I want.
The mutant is based on one of those chaos plastic heroes from warhammer fantasy.(on a 30mm base)
The gun on the Heavy guy was quite a hassle to remove so i ended up cutting off half the Hasslefree minigun(You were correct) and sculpting the rest.
-
I like your construction of the drone - giving me ideas!
-
The hard part about the mech is finding/building good looking back legs. lol
-
Well as far as legs go there's always the easily accessible Games Workshop Defiler/Sentinels legs. However if you could find a set from the Dust Tactics Axis Heavy Walkers, those could work nicely.

A teaser for the Group of figs I just painted.
-
As I had already done the Reds from Metro 2033 I though i could also do there enemies, the Reich.
figures are GW steellegion with some minor conversions, Guns etc..
I also though that maybe some of you might want to see all the figs at the same time so heres all that i've painted so far.
-
:-*
Looks good to me!!
Cheers
Matt
-
Everything looks great! I'd love to see more terrain ... surely you've finished a few more pieces by now, right? ;D ;D
-
Sadly i havent really finished that much more.
But theres a few PIP figs including a new faction of militia/military,Zombies and a doctor.
And I have started on making a vehicle but have currently run out of ideas how to make it anywhere Close to "realistic" looking.
-
Okay, heres a small pic of whats been happening,I got the idea of using the Tau figures after i had played a bit of Bungee's new FPS Destiny.
Think I have to redo the car/IFV or need some more inspiration/ideas for it.
-
I quite like that car design 8) Put a little bubble cockpit on the top near the front and your ready to go :D
Love the rest of stuff in this thread as well :-*
cheers
James
-
Little hatches either side of the front pod as access? Small radar set on top towards the back, makes a great scout/recon vehicle.
-
Well, I have just recently finished a few of these and applied a bit more highlights to some of them.
Hopefully these Pictures are a bit better then the ones I posted Before.

Very crisp PJ's and basing.
Me likey :-*
-
They look great Mate!
-
They're all fantastic lovely work!
-
New figure :D
Started yesterday and finished today, could possibly need a few more highlights though.
It's a mercenary/ mutant hunter armed with a knife and a crossbow.

Amazing work! :o You've certainly inspired me to crack on with my post-apocalypse stuff! :D

Great rubble Raxxus, it's very believable. The loose bricks are a very nice touch.
Is the telegraph wire string? It looks the business that's for sure and will sit well in situ.
A pity the photos are so dark. When shooting on white backgrounds the auto function over corrects. If your camera has the setting try photographing at a few stops above to overexposed the white, but get the item perfect. :) some auto modes have a little wheel to do that.
Cheers
Matt.

Yeah its string, and I was usning the cellphone camera for this, lol
-
Lovely bits of terrain. I particularly like the telegraph poles.
-
Great work- like the shack with the propeller and the ruined S tank.
-
Huh, those loose bits of rubble look really effective. The painting's great throughout. ...I mean as far as capturing the dismal look goes its spot on. Is that all just pieces of foam you've made most of that terrain with? ???

Foamboard, foam,sand/gravel, clay/GS, small 1:35 bricks (might have been 1:48),cork and plasticard, etc...
I keep using what I find/got and not im not always satisfied with the results, therefore some of the terrain never get shown/finished and get reused as new materials for new projects.

Heh, if you don't think its good enough then take a picture of your terrain all bunch in together and shove them in the gaps. ;)
-
So I actually finished a terrain piece thats been in limbo for a while!
Also took some pictures for you to see how i work when creating terrain.

Primarily its made of MDF, foamboard, sand and cork, coated with glue, brown paint and sand to create a texture and then later painted, aswell as added a few bricks and tufts.
