Title: Just an update, what is going on and what is planned...
Post by: Agis on October 04, 2012, 03:08:32 PM
Hi again,

just an update what is going on and what is planned for Victory Decision.
To be honest I am a bit unhappy, a planned more for 2012 and I am a bit behind with my releases.
There some private reasons (new and eventually better aid job) and another very nice reason. I  was approached in January by Alessio Cavatore and Rick Priestley to write the Japanese Supplement for their Bolt Action rule system. After some discussions I agreed and wrote the book this summer. As you can imagine this took some quality time away from my ViDe work. But the draft is delivered and paid for so I am up for more ViDe.  8)

So what is going on?
October will see a free update of the German Vehicle Manual, another unit and more and better pics!
I will also release a free Early/ Mid War US Infantry booklet, the changes to the list in the main rulebook are too little to justify a separate book you have to pay for!

Halloween Special Release October 31: a free Zombie booklet!

After that Gear Krieg! I am right now finishing the Victory Decision: Gear Krieg book, it will be the biggest book I have done so far, over 200 pages.
It is a stand alone product that includes all the ViDe rules, the full background of the original Tactical game and army lists for German, British, Japanese, US and Soviet forces.
Every list will also have some GK “specials":
Germany: Loki, Thor, Uller and Valkyrie walkers, Tiger EXS with guided rocket, Rockettroops and Zombies
British: Cavalier and Roundhead walkers, Tesla Churchill tank, Boarhound Armoured Car
US: Longstreet and Early walkers, Helitroops
Soviet: Lend lease Cavalier and Early L1 and L2, KV-2C Heavy Tesla Tank, T-44 Nikolai Lenin tank
Japanese: ShiKi Walker and Zombies
Best thing everything will be 100% compatible with all my previous ViDe books.
I expect a release at the end of 2012, maybe as a combined ebook/ print on demand offer .

Next year will then see the already announced releases.

We have really started to like this game. I really want to see what you are going to do with the Sci Fi version. Any initial thoughts on Power Armor and/or small walkers(dreadnaught sized)?

Power Armour will be something like this:
30 points; 4” Move, CC 1xD6   , Crit 7+, Hit 4+, Sv 4+, Ld 6; Grenades, Dedicated, Marksman, Nerves of Steel, Assault Rifle (like StG44)
Remenber that the 4+ save translate into a 2+ save when in Hard cover!

Try some 5 men squad (150 points) like the above vs WW II armies, FUN!

A Dreadnought would be a HEAVY walker, light walkers would be like the Gear Krieg preview walkers...

Looking forward to it all Agis.  And congrats on the Bolt Action supplement.

Ouhh... never intended to buy a pacific supplement for BA... I think now I have to take a glimpse at least  lol
Does it differ from your ViDe Pacific supplement in terms of group composition and armament? Are pics of your minis in the book?

Waiting for your GearKrieg unpatiently to replace the f***in' dust warfare (never getting tired to express my distaste  >:( sorry for that :( )

Nope to both.
Since my books are based on real life units the units and vehicles are pretty much the same.
No reason to change history ...   ;) ;)
I encountered some challanges since BA uses even broader strokes as ViDe, but group composition and armament is the same.
My minis are NOT in the book, I have no control over the layout or any pics.
I offered it, but Warlord did not wanted my support.

I am on it...
I have not looked into DUST warfare so far, so no comment on that.  ;)

So, saving funds for Xmas - with your GK ViDe rules and FiB E-series/Clockwork Goblin WWWII stuff, i can see 2013 being my year of Alternate WWII.

Sounds like a solid plan to me!  ;)

The German Technical Manual is updated!
The book gets 2 additional pages, now over 132 guns and vehicles for your German forces from all periods of World War II are covered.
A lot of new photos and 2 new vehicles are added:
Panzerwerfer 42 auf Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper (sWS) and the
PzKpfw VII Löwe Tank. All owners have already received their download notice.
As usual downloadable via the Wargame Vault.
