It's miniature Friday on my blog, and I'm showing off my newly completed band of Greek heroes, 'The Warriors of Athena'

Very nice indeed!
:-*
I do so like your neat, clean painting style, Joe.

Very nice. WF certainly seem to have been stepping up their game since their initial releases.
-
Excellent warband. The bronze armour is very effective.
WF certainly seem to have been stepping up their game since their initial releases.
That does seem to be the case if these are anything to go by.

Love those muliti-part posable figures. This group is just great! Look pretty darn heroic to me! :D

fine stuff, well done, Joe!

Thanks guys. Once I get them some enemies, I'll try to work up a battle report.

Over the weekend, I sent a few of the Warriors of Athena on their first mission.

As the warriors were traveling through northern Greece, they heard rumours of a warrior named Phrixis, who lived in the hills and bred huge, vicious hounds, which he used to terrorize the countryside. After a quick meeting, some of the warriors would continue onward, while, four would stay behind and investigate.

After several days of searching, the warriors found the crumbling ruins that Phrixis used as a base. They could hear the growling of the hounds as they carefully approached.

Suddenly all Hades broke loose. Three monsterous hounds came storming through the rocks. While three of the warriors awaited the hounds approach, the over-confident Tigasis charged forward. Soon battle was joined all around. Phassos, was the first to draw blood, slaying one of the hounds. In the center, the largest of the hounds bore Tigasis to the ground, while Hyrieus traded blows with Phrixis.

On the other flank, Palaimon got into an extended duel with one hound. He would eventually win, but only after the rest of the battle had concluded.

With the battle hanging in the balance, Phassos charged over and slew the hound that had mauled Tigasis, then helped Hyrieus finish off Phrixis. Phassos, the only warrior still unscathed, went over to help Palaimon, while Hyrieus did what he could for the badly wounded Tigasis. The young warrior would live, but it would be many days before he recovered enough to continue their journey...
I actually played this game twice. The first time I used Song of Blades and Heroes, but the game played so fast, that it seemed hardly worth setting up the table. I admit it. I like to roll dice. So, I set the game up again, and this time I stated everyone out using first edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. I then used card activation. This gave me a fun little game, that last a perfect amount of time and giving me lots of dice to roll.

Awesome looking game! Who makes the hounds?
-
The Hounds are all Reaper Hell Hounds. I think they do one pack of two and another individual one. Loads of fun to paint, lots of well defined hair makes for easy dry-brushing.

Nice game.
Like how you used a few figures.
Goes to show, you can have a fun game.
You now have something to build on
and add to the legend.
Well done.
