Yeah, well... i'm not talking about me.
There's a friend of mine, and she's quite disappointly talented in painting, even though she still didn't finish her first miniature.
Do you have suggestion for some good basic tutorials for painting, highligting and such? I have found in these years TONS of tutorials and lessions, but i'm here asking for the ones that impressed you the most.
Thanks in advance LAFers! :)

The two books by Kevin Dallimore.

Massive Voodoo (http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.de/2009/10/tutorial-overview.html) blog tutorial section. The number of tutorials is simply overwhelming, and covers everything from basic painting to advanced detail work, conversions, genre-specific articles, basing, oils and airbrushes, weathering and whathaveyou.

Dr Faust's

Great tips and walkthroughs from basic up to showcase techniques.

I would second Dr Faust when starting out, and then look to improve with Massive Voodoo.
You can also try some paint-along videos? On YouTube there are many people who post vids, including more advanced painters like CorvusMiniatures (http://www.youtube.com/user/CorvusMiniatures/videos?view=0), so hopefully you should be able to find something that will suit you (really, there are too many to list here - just have a search on YouTube yourself and you'll see!). YouTube videos are also helpful because you can see the techniques better and also the paint consistencies too.
/// EDIT ///
Dr Faust has a YouTube feed here (http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePaintingClinic/videos?view=0).
