Phil took me to Derby Worlds for a couple of hours today, my first real outing since the op. The show has moved to Castle Donnington and is now all under one roof. It seemed very busy: fine display games; busy traders by the score and enthusiastic competitors. A much better show in my opinion in the new venue.
A few camera phone shots of my favourite game, The Battle of Oriamendi, 1837, by Like A Stone Wall.

As I'm not too mobile, I did n't get any other shots of some other really good games. I especially liked the Arthur's Battles by Westbry Wargamers, very nicely done chaps!

Pity I missed you, I am there tomorrow. Nice to see you are up and about. I have to say that, if I started again, I would be tempted to set all my games in Spain.
On another vein, I bumped into Ron Field today, another ex-teacher and Osprey's main ACW Confederate author, and was invited around to see his fabulous collection of dageurrotypes ...... :D

As I've said on another post a cracking show, but I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition.
Sorry we missed you John, always enjoy our chats.

I should be at Warfare next month, probably catch you there, Phil.... :D
