Not sure if this should be posted here ......................
I'm looking for a truly matt varnish (brush on rather than spray) something with no shine, any ideas?
Cheers in advance

I like Golden Polymer Matte Varnish.

I'm with Orctrader, it hasn't let me down yet.

I use Vallejo - s'okay, maybe a slightly satin finish but bearable.

this what I presently use as well....I'm not sure how much protection it provides though...

Fair point. I use army painter quickshade first, which acts as a cost of gloss varnish.

I also use Vallejo and I think it provides good protection. But on some miniatures it gets a bit glossy, but on others it is totally matt...I really can't figure out why...

I read Orctrader's article and tried the Daler Rowney Soluble Matt Varnish (over a Humbrol Gloss varnish) about 6 months ago. I was sold on it after the first use and haven't used any other varnish since.
+1 for Daler Rowney Soluble Matt Varnish

+1 from me to.

That's interesting as I'm planning on ditching quickshade for Vallejo ink as a wash (getting fed up with ruined brushes and the smell of white spirit) but was worried that Vallejo matt varnish wouldn't provide much protection.
