Title: Minairons' Panzer I A available for pre-order
Post by: Lluís of Minairons on 20 October 2012, 06:41:57 PM
Once successfully completed a second injection test (at last!!), the 1:72nd scale Panzer I A of Minairons Miniatures (http://www.minairons.eu) has been finally approved for production, so that we shall have it available before the end of October.

As some of you perhaps recall, Minairons Miniatures (http://www.minairons.eu) is aimed at producing high quality, fast assembly models either in hard plastic or resin. In this case, our Panzer I A plastic sprue  consists of just 10 parts, 2 of which are alternative turrets --the standard one as well as the "modificado" 20mm Breda gun. Model is available in a 3-sprue box also including a decals sheet with national markings for up to 4 early WWII German, Kuomintang Chinese and Spanish Nationalist tanks.

This set is to retail at EUR 18.95 normally, but we offer you to pre-order it now for only EUR 15.00. That is, over 20% off... for a few days only!

That's nice but... 18.95 euros for 3 fast assembly tanks? If i understood right, it doesn't look to me much different that what was available on the market... say, 5 years ago. What is the different compared to Italery, hasegawa and friends?

12 pounds postage? I'd like a box but that is worse than the old Foundry prices.

GBP 12.00? ...where did you read this?

From the eBay advertisement:

If you're an UK resident, EUR 8.54 postage means less than GBP 7.00, not 12.00 http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert/?Amount=8.54&From=EUR&To=GBP (http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert/?Amount=8.54&From=EUR&To=GBP)

...or am I missing anything?  ???

I'm in New Zealand, it showed as 12 pounds when I checked, even at 12 euros it's still to rich for me.

that's the meaning of fast assembly. That is a good point, compensated by the lack of details. Overall it's a convenience mainly for the caster, i couldn't say that it's a good reason for a higher price, eventually the opposite!
And 6 euros per sprue is... well, nothing new, to me! Actually, Italery are cheaper.

Sorry to be that harsh, first i was just asking what didn't i get of the offer, now after your reply i'm realizing that i didn't miss anything. :)

@Sangennaru, you are forgetting one significant point. This is a model of Pz I version "A" including the Breda turret. You won't be able to find any such model in Italeri, Hasegawa or Fujimi catalogues, they only produce version "B" of the tank.

If you want a Breda gun armed Pz I A, you have no other option than seeking and purchasing an Attack plastic model, which actually retails at... GBP 13.00 for one  single sprue (http://www.modelhobbies.co.uk/shop/attack-panzer-ausf-late-production-72866-p-17323.html)!

Otherwise, you can buy a beautiful resin model from Model Trans Modellbau, but... again at the price of GBP 13.00 for one single model (http://www.lonewulfmodels.co.uk/sub_category.php?c_id=25&sc_id=68#)!

I'm fully persuaded that, face to such examples, Minairons Panzer I A is more than a convenient and cheap option to a wargamer, who's unwilling to see his beautiful Modell Trans resin tank broken into pieces at the first chance.

Sorry @Stu, such are the postal rates to New Zealand, I cannot avoid this. I'm afraid that your only chance would be waiting until a kiwi distributor decides carrying our products --unless purchasing by yourself more than just one single box, and/or sharing shipping expenses with gaming mates   ::)

Please note than 2 boxes would be EUR 12.04 + 1.50 = 13.54, so that shipping cost would drastically drop down to EUR 6.77 each box. Following the progression, 3 boxes would cost you EUR 5 only, and so...  ;)

Ok, good to know, that's a good point =)
