Looking good! Didn't back the kickstarter, but surely will get it once the regular version is released!
-
Oh hell do I want one of those :o!
-
Yep, I'm looking forward to it myself as it's certainly of a rather impressive size. Can't say I like the design overtly, unfortunately -- the head is good but the rest of the bulk doesn't make me go all "Iä! Iä!" Much too much dragon in it.
-
:D Can't wait for mine to arrive. Al comments about the looks aside, I've only payed 10 dollar for the monster... MWUHAHAHA
-
Those wings look like they could support his immense bulk. >:(
A cool mini other than that.
If this is the size of $10 mini on the kickstarter I'm kind of worried about Nethyrmaul which was $25. If it's much bigger than that I think I'll have to sell it, I have no room at my house!
-
Looks really nice, and I think I would like to get one once it is regular.
Hoping to get to see it from some other angles though.
-
Sweet baby Jesus, I want that!
-
That looks rather good. :)
Looks like it will tower over the RAFM one.
-
The head is great, I assume as its WIP the body will acquire some more detail/skin textures etc. Really happy to see old squiddy in a big mini (is that oxymoronic or just a tautology?) as the big Heroclix one is hard to find & expensive. I look forward to fielding such an impressive 'godling' in future SA games - wallet bracing itself as we speak.

His wings are supposed to be small, according to Howard :P
And I have to agree, head is really nice, but theres something lacking on the body. I can't wait to get it!
-
Oh crap, that awesome! The only thing I don't like are the veins on the wings. Also didn't back the whole Kickstarter thing, but I'm definitely going to buy this one when it's released for the non Kickstarter people.
-
Another mini added to the wish list!
-
I am stoked that I got mine ordered!
-
That is incredible. Sadly between it's base price and shipping I foresee this being prohibitively expensive :'(

It will be done in the Reaper Bones line, so thus fairly light, personally I see this as a boon for shipping..
-
I don't really like the big seam down his torso, but otherwise very nice...and I certainly won't complain at it costing me a mere $10.

I'm out of the loop, is Bones plastics or something? If so, this sounds quite good :)

I think it isn't 100% finished.

Yea, it is a soft plastic, ready to paint right out of the package. The new material is cheaper than metal and very easy to convert as well as tough (you can bend arms and such without breaking like metal can). The minis are lighter also that helps with shipping weights.

I'm not too clued up on Cthulhuness so... oops.
Still looks very nice though. Reaper produce some excellently sculpted miniatures (well, more than some actually)

I'd like to buy it and add a zipper there.
-
That is one impressive beastie - I want one!

Well, actually in the Cthulhu idol's case, they are described as "rudimentary", which might mean they are not really wings at all but instead some sort of gills or fins. The scaly dragon impression also comes from the brief description of the idol so it's not wrong per se, but the tail is definitely too much:

It does help that it's lightweight but the size is also a killer. No idea how it will be boxed of course but given "the soft plastic" approach I think it might come in one piece?

From what I have seen so far, all the Bones stuff is no-assembly, open blister/box and ready to paint without primer if you want....I still like to primer but not critical from what I read online when people tested the claim. I am happy with a good sized, cost effective Cthulu that looks decent. I don't have to have a master artizan done figure that I will use a few times and display more than likely. I think Reaper is slowly carving into a nitche markert.

Enhances the unfortunate 'guy in rubber suit' general look :D

I've asked the question to Reaper during the KS campaign and the answer was that "it was too soon to tell but that larger models might indeed need assembly..."

Head looks good, but...

... Aye. The body looks like a Halloween costume bodged out of bin-liners.
Dunno about the 'yoo-hoo!' pose, either.
-
It looks like there was one sculptor for the head and another for the body. Not a bad thing, just... two different feels to it.
-
Every time I see these topic titles, I read "bones" as a verb.
Many of them sound like B-movies.

You sir, are awesome. Eleventeen points awarded for making me spit-take my drink.

Sorta like a weird new take on the "Debbie Does..." series of adult films; "Reaper Bones..."!
-
Did i just hear somebody say; "sweet baby Jesus"? And who's that fellow standing there?
-
Now I'm laughing whenever I see this title. Somehow I don't think Cthulhu would stand for it maybe lie down though?
-
Well, they do say he sleeps rather deeply in his house in R'Lyeh...

Actually it reminds me of Japanese Henti (if I spelled it right), Reaper Bones Cthulu...bones, tentacles and all kinds of crazy stuff in weird sex acts... :o
-
Not really thrilled with the sculpt myself, but I assume there's still quite a bit of work to be done on it. At least the bones material should make reposing/converting the fig easy.
Kind of hoping that Troll Forged's not-Cthulhu "Overlord" turns out cooler looking, but we're still waiting on teaser art for it. He's certainly got some other lovely nasties in the line so far:

Those parasitized alien hosts are one of the most wonderfully awful things I've ever seen.
-
I'll be getting this as well, as it's cheap as all get out, but it does have a 'man in a rubber suit' vibe to it.
-
And the investigator empties his pistol into the monstrosity for 2 D 6 effect!
-
If it gets funded (pretty likely) lives up to the concept art (again, pretty likely) I think I'm going to like this one a lot better than the Bones one:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/131182444/assimilation-alien-host/posts/347260
Comes out to between $30 and $45 during the Kickstarter, which isn't half bad for a 6-8" tall model on a 120mm base. You'll even get one "free" as part of the $200 pledge level, along with over 100 other figs, some nearly as big.
Still, nice to have more Big C models to choose from. I have this mad dream of running an All-Cthulhu Deathmatch Arena multiplayer game at a con some day. :)
-
I like the Reaper Cthulu, the size of the wings and the rubber suit look don't matter - it was only $10!!!

It may quiet well be a better sculpt, yes, but it's also looking like it's going to be a lot more expensive and likely it'll also be less readily available in Europe so it's a bit academic for me personally.
As to the likeness as per concepts, the body of the "Overlord" with its bony plates appears more Tyranid-like than I would really prefer and the wings are on the large side for being "vestigal". But as mentioned already in this thread, the original description is based almost solely on the Cthulhu idol so that does leave the details open to interpretion.
